I have, a few times. Camels are not native to Australia. They were brought over in the 1880s by the Afghans. Hence, we have a huge poulation of camels in the desert. Some of these have been tamed, and people offer rides. It is a weird feeling riding on a camel, a bit uncomfortable really. I wouldn't want to ride a camel for any great length of time, as I think I would end up with a sore b.... If you have ridden a camel, what were your experiences? If not, would you like to ride a camel? Here is a pic of my daughter riding a camel.

The only camels I have ever seen were in the zoo. I don't think we have any in the US. at least not in the east. I don't think they are out in the desert parts of the country, but I'm not sure. I can imagine it would be uncomfortable to ride one. I think I would rather ride a horse than a camel

Yes, they asre uncomfortable. We dont have camels n our zoos as far as I know. I dont whether the US has any native camels. Ours are pure, so people from the middle east sometimes want them.

That is strange. We don't have them only in the zoo. Your country has them so they aren't in the zoo. I never thought of Australia as having them. I always think of the Arab states when I think of camels.

That is a unique opportunity. I have no idea where I would even go to get a camel ride. No, I have never had a ride on a camel. Likewise, I have never smoked a camel. But I did find the instructions for riding a camel here: http://www.ehow.com/how_2058564_ride-camel.html djbtol

I havent smoked camel either. Good camel riding instructions. I would rather have the camel owner lead me along, as thats my level of expertise.

Hi Jenny. Yes, I've ridden a camel before, years ago when I was a little girl. It was at an theme park and the ride was short, but I remember feeling like I was going to fall off. I've ridden an elephant a couple of times as well, and I have to say it wasn't quite as scary as riding a camel! LOL Happy mylotting!

I havent ridden on a camel, but I have seen the camel in the zoo. The camel are known for their humps and their tall legs. I have heard my friends riding on a camel, but they felt the animal stinks a lot than others. Which forces them to forfeit the ride in the middle.

I had to laugh at your comment. Yes, it's true, camels do smell.
