Suffering ....quite a fun

Shortcomings...misgivings...instability....sickness...A score of problems make most of us draw to the grips of sorrowful state of affairs. You would be at the wit's end when misfortune and worries strike you. However isn't it a blessing in disguise...for how would we ever realize how it would be to be in distress? pains at times should be taken as a notion of justice since if there is no pains there is no gains as well. A controverted thinking , perhaps.......

I guess we if we were not familiar with sadness and suffering we would not appreciate the happy times and sometimes what seems to be a disaster can turn out to be a blessings in disguise. I recall seeing a woman on Oprah who was conned by a man who told her he loved her just so he could get to her money; she ended up leaving him but not before she was infected with the Aids virus. She was devastated and hurt and thought her life was over until she met a fantastic man at her Aids support group who also has the virus and they are blissfully happy together and she now has true love; so if this devastating illness had not been given to her, she would not have met the love of her life. Out of the darkness sometimes the brightest light can emerge...

The taste of sadness may be bitter but how come we know what really bitterness tastes like if there is no sadness. good luck.

Life is like a pendulum, always moving, always seeking balance. For every positive cycle, there is an equal negative one. If we have not experienced sorrow, failure, unfairness, illness, hatred...how do we appreciate the opposites of happiness, success, fairness, good health and love? This balance is mirrored in the natural world around us. Night and day. Winter and summer. High tides and low tides. The balance of the swinging pendulum serves as both a comfort and a warning. If you are experiencing bad times, sooner or later that will change for the better, just hold on. If you are enjoying good times, appreciate them because they will change too. The balance is both our hope and humility.

Hello my friend sukumar794 Ji, I would bring out following few golden rules, if applied lot of pains can be managed and life can be made peaceful. Here are those - "SATSANG (a) ”If you can balance /stable your mind, when people around you are in un-balanced , and at the same time blaming you”. (NO-reaction) (b) “If you have belief on yourself, when others have doubt and at the same time, you strongly oppose their belief of their doubt” (c) “If you can wait for Good/Bright days without loosing patience/getting disheartened of waiting”. (d) “Everyone around you is deceiving you , whereas you are not in any way.” (e) “ Every body hates you and you do not, at the same time, you ARE not proud to be ‘good’ and ‘wise’. (f) “ If you Can dream, but do not allow them to overpower you, and you Can ‘think’ but at the same time, do not plunge into dreams of ‘thinking”. (g) “If you can welcome ‘gains’ and ‘defeat’ OR ‘profit’ & ‘loss’ with open hearts and they do not unbalance your mind”. (h) “If you can accept your own words in twisted/mutilated /distorted form, happily by ‘fools’ and they do not involve you in their bad plans”. (i)“ If you Can bear/tolerate the ‘gains’ accomplished by you ‘raise to ashes’ , for which you took whole life to build, and at the same time you can once again order your tired hands to restart making”. (J) “ If you can take one chance to reduce your gains in your life, ‘loose’ or ‘gain’ (like a great gambler) (k)“If you can, after loosing every bit in your life, get ready fresh to obtain the same with total energy from all corners of your body and mind, without uttering a single word even”. (l)“ If you Can compel your heart, mind and limbs, when they are so tired and refuse to accept any thing, except that your ‘belief’ and ‘desire’ to order them that they have to march forward and not falling back”. (m) “ If you can roam in crowds, but do not allow your ‘thoughts’ and ’abilities’ to wander stray, and you live with emperor, but do not neglect common man “. (n) “ If you are unharmed by people loving you and people hating you”. (o)“ If you Can respect everybody within the limits, but at the same time nobody”. (p)“ IF YOU CAN REMEMBER THE UN-EXCUSED MOMENT/SECOND (time) OF YOUR LIFE, AND EXPLAIN THE REASON FOR THE SAME”. Then, the whole world belongs to you only and every thing that exists on this, at the same time you fall under the category of ‘ACTUAL HUMAN BEING ’, which is greatest achievement in the life than any thing else”. May God bless You and have a great time.

I know exactly what you are saying. At times I'm blessed, or cursed to literly feel nothing. I exist but I'm the equelivent of "fine" when I'm not really "fine". I'm disabled with both blindness and Cerbal Polsy)cp). So sometimes my nerves are numb to the world. And I'm thankful sometimes, because they don't over react, but I'm glad to feel pain occassionally too because it lets me know I'm alive.

Exactly ! it is only in pain that we recognize the true picture of the situation.
