Training materials for the CFA and CFP certifications

I will be starting the MBA program through Liberty University in January with hopes of eventually getting either the Chartered Financial Analyst or Certified Financial Planner certifications, or both. I have looked online and have found several programs to enroll in to study for both of the certifications, but are there any good training materials that can be bought somewhere like Amazon.com to study at your own pace? I know of several types of jobs that I could get with either of the certifications but which one do you believe would be more beneficial to get in the long run?
