Last time, I was absent. It was such an ordeal I wish I weren't sick. I had to call two schools. One because my contact person was there, one because my mentor teacher was there, and I had email my supervisor. When I spoke to people on the phone, they didn't even take my information right. Then, I had to email my univerisity and file an absence report. It was really just a pain. Well, this time was my last day with the students. To thank all of the teacher for being nice to me I went to a coffee shop and brought in a gallon of coffee and a dozen donuts. It didn't start out well. One of the girl was crying and wouldn't stop for a half hour. I had to sit with her. The lunch lady came to help with breakfast and asked if she could take the donuts and coffee. I wanted to say no, because it was just for the teacher, but I said yes because I didn't want to seem rude. The kids eat breakfast a lot faster now. Next we did small group and the aide had to explain how to use the centers properly, because the students weren't putting thing back right. Next was lunch. One boy cried because he couldn't have school lunch, because his mom brings lunch (which looks better to me) and no money. So, he cried and crushed his lunch all the table. I had to throw it out. next was nap time. During this time, I called students to use the bathroom. I had lunch. Then, I helped the aid make gift boxes. Next was large group activity. Then, we helped the kids get ready to go home. Some of the kids asked me to stay when they found out it was my last day. It was sad. I'll miss some of them, but not all of them.
