do you as a writer find that too many people criticize your work and nobody what you write there are always people that don't like it. For example if you write in the third person they tell you you should write more in the first person, be more personal. If you write personal articles they say that you are too personal this can also go for everyday life, to you find when you share your life with people, that they tell you you tell people too much about yourself, and if you don't they tell you you are too secretive if you are sharing about the bad things in your life they tell you that whining too much if you share the good things in your life then you are bragging and boasting. If you are talking a lot about yourself then you are egotist and narcissitic If you are genuinely interested in the lives of others you are too nosey Do any of you writers or have people in your regular life that are constantly finding fault with anything you do?

Well, I used to: my mother. But, I think that's true of most people. Mothers can be extremely critical of their children, no matter how old those children are. My motto is "you can't please all the people all the time." I learned a great way to look at life by one of my high school art teachers. She would never give a number grade of 100. When I asked her why, she said that no art is perfect. What one person loves, another person might not so there was no way she could give a grade of 100, which would imply perfection. I see people like this. Everyone is different, with different ideas about everything. If someone was adamant about my writing being too personal or too obtuse, I would ask them about their credentials, what gives them the right to criticize my work. If their credentials were noteworthy, I would listen to their criticisms. If they had no or very little formal education in writing, I would simply choose to ignore their comments and not let them bother me.

with writing it is a matter of different styles, nobody loves every style of writing no matter what their credentials are, so even that you have to choose whose words you are listening to. The bottom line really is to listen to the people who will help you get better ignore the ones that don't.

Somewhere along the line I got disconnected from your stories. You could tell us how to get them here, since I am asking, although I also know that I can go to your profile and find out.

my stories are all over the net and I make good money with them, I ignore the people who cannot advance my career. You can always sign up for my stories if you still want them.

Yes, it is true. You cannot win for losing. You cannot please anyone, so it is important that you please yourself. I know that you know this friend, that you are true to yourself.

yep, but I was more concerned with the people who had to find fault with everything they are the ones with the problem.

That is one problem I've never run into. The way I see it, there is only one of me, and billions of them, so if a few million find fault with my work, a few million more will love it. As my Morfar always said, "it takes all kinds to make a world" and "different strokes for different folks." I don't let them get to me.

Yeah my friend..sometime it would be so funny to think and most likely so frustrating knowing that you write it the best you could hoping every reader could take some good ideas from what you're writing about. Well, this is the naked truth, " you can't please all people from all of all your best you've been doing". In your case, I think that's normal my friend because it is not only you as a writer feels that..it is all happening the most on media people... I think, I would just do normally what I think it's right and I don't mind those critics of mine...More power my friend..happy new year.. Mobhomeir here...
