Since I don't really get to watch the local news much I saw this story & I was thinking... EGADS! How long did this go on? The greedy just keep getting greedier (if that's even a word)! Her home they showed on tv looks like a castle!
She makes like $175,000 / yr! If she ever gets out of jail she'll be lucky to make minimum wage!

The more they look into this lady the more money they seem to find missing. **shaking head** There are people out there who can't even afford their bills, groceries nothing and then this lady is living it up on other peoples money beyond her means. I hope that due to this fool that the company doesn't have to start laying off people....

you think that's bad..they caught not one but several of our city hall workers using the town credit cards for personal use.and they were neither audited or jailed for it.all they said is "we'll pay it back" and i heard no more of it.
and i seriously doubt one cent of that ever came back.

Hmmm..... sounds like something perhaps their union worked out with the city behind closed doors? Theft is still theft even if you offer to pay it back!

I don't understand people like that. How could she enjoy that money knowing that she stole it? Did she give any of it to those less fortunate like so many of us do that are struggling just to get by? What a miserable person she must be.

I highly doubt she gave to any charity other then her own selfish wants. Honestly for someone who stole that kind of money she looks a bit shabby!
That's what angers me about her not just the company and employees she jeopardized but the fact that so many are going without now than ever They've even profiled a family or two living in their car because they had to give up their home due to a job loss.
Here read this dragon http://www.jsonline.com/business/80085207.html I"m still trying to find a picture of her house but her husband is a big wig @ the local childrens hospital, a peditrician & law professor. Eve had a 1000sq ft room to store all her clothes! My house is 1000sq ft and she's using that amount of space for clothing storage!!!! So I guess my hubby can't complain about my rummage sale clothes shopping for the kids.... it certainly doesn't fill our house to the ceiling!

3SnuggleBunnies yes some people are greedy and the more they'hae the more they want. 175,000 a year and she dared to embezzle my G most people would be thrilled to make that kind of money per year. Hope she stays in p rison for a long long time as she deserves every year of it.

I'd be in heaven w/ 50% of what she's making. Sick isn't it the more they have the more some of them want and are willing to do illegal activites to get it. Seriously... why would you jeopardize such a great job? your spouses reputation? home? ect.

I've never, ever understood why people think that it is necessary to take money that doesn't belong to them. This situation is just one of the many where there are people that are making a really good living that don't think that it is enough. As for us, we are very humble people with a very modest income and yes there are times that I would like to be able to get a hold of some extra money, so I just try to work harder online, but I would never steal money that didn't rightfully belong to me. I hope that they decide to take everything that she owned and sell it so that there aren't honest people that end up without a job because of what she has been doing.

Thats one thing that concerns me too as all the money she's been stealing belongs to the company. Hence it sounds like the company has been running in the "red" for the past few years. Will all this embezzlement mean more job losses because of someones greed?
I hear ya on the job front too! We are just getting by..... I got a pt job last year to help out with groceries & gas money. I had been home for 5yrs with me kids and we couldn't afford for me to not make any money KWIM? But we needed to survive I got a pt job. I'd love to work more hours and or find a job that just plain pays better but child care is expensive and I don't have a degree that would get me a job to pay for child care either. But that's life and we accept it and we live our lives to the best we can & do it HONESTLY!
