How often do you cook a hot breakfast....

...for yourself or your family? Is it just special occasions like holidays, only weekends, only when everybody is home, or rarely, if at all? Do you think it's important to do this once in awhile or often? If so, why, if not, why not?

When I know I will be home in the mornings, I always try to make a hot breakfast, especially for my grandbaby. She loves oatmeal, so I make it often. Other hot cereals are great, too. I like to make her pancakes from scratch and french toast, as well. I alternate with eggs and on weekends, we have a larger breakfast, sometimes including bacon or sausage, omelets, or eggs benedict. So, all said, right now we aim for hot breakfast a minimum of 3 times a week. On rush days, it's cold cereal, yoghurt, or cinnamon toast and juice. Since I am home most days right now, it's not hard to cook a hot breakfast. I'm grateful for the time, since people are always in such a rush, and I'm slowed down just now, so I can savor the moments.

Well, I never cook a hot breakfast for my family for the traditional breakfast hours. That is mostly because none of us are really breakfast eaters. However, about once every couple of weeks I will cook breakfast for our family. I do feel that it is very important to share in meals, but for us it has always been dinner because that is what our varying schedules allow. It would be difficult, if not impossible to get our family to share in breakfast if we were breakfast eaters.

sorry, i dont really what 'hot breakfast' means?.. i make sure my family eats breakfast everyday... i may not 'cook' anything, but i make sure there's warm chocolate, or warm milk, or warm tea.. for them... normally, i just make fried eggs - and they'll eat that with bread or just like that.. sometimes i buy 'ready-made buns' from the shop.. on weekends also i dont necessarily cook breakfast - just prepare the hot drinks for them.. i think the more important thing is to make sure they do eat breakfast, and on weekends, or any other holiday - we sit down for breakfast together - like any other meals.. eating together is more important - to me, that is... *the ritual in the family is warm drinks for breakfast - we hardly drink juice or 'cold drinks' for breakfast...

Mostly on the weekend, but sometimes on week days. Usually the kids do their own thing on weekdays though, eggos, cereal, oatmeal, etc.

Hi, mommyboo. I will usually cook a hot breakfast twice a month or so. I will just cook on a regular day and on the weekends. It is great to eat breakfast together every once in a while. It allows a family to have some bonding time together. It helps make a family feel as if they are nurtured.

There is noone here but me but i fix myself a hot breakfast every morning, It's usually my breakfast & lunch together because i like to be up awhile before i eat. I love breakfast foods. That is one thing i don't get tired of eating. I do change it up & don't have the very same thing every day but close to it.

It's just the two of us here, and we don't often cook breakfast. I like to have a bit of yoghurt in the morning, and he likes to wait until later and have something like a sandwich - he doesn't get hungry at the same time that I do.

i don't very often cook a hot breakfast for myself or my family. my hubby leaves to go to work at 3 am, and my older boys are old enough to make their own breakfast. besides we all keep up different times to start our day. and on the weekend the boys like to sleep in. i am up early and really don't like to eat a heavy hot breakfast. but once in a while i will keep them all up and go ahead and treat them to a nice breakfast.

It's only me and the cat here, so I sometimes will cook for breakfast if I'm hungry. Usually I wait for a while though and have lunch instead. But, there are occasions when I wake up starving!! It's so funny, I've already made a complete breakfast in the middle of the night if I'm hungry enough. If I had more people here I'd probably make breakfast everyday as it is suppose to be the most important meal of the day. I do feel better when I eat breakfast, so that much I can say.

My husband isn't hungry first thing in the morning. I have to eat because of sugar issues and to take some of my meds. I usually just bring something with me to work, oatmeal, fruit, some bacon, a bagel. I do sometimes cook a nice hot breakfast on the weekends though. Eggs, bacon, biscuits, yum.

I don't do it all that often, but I do it at least once a month, it becomes quite a chore with 5 people in the family they all want their eggs cooked differently. So It ends up being a lot of work and a lot of dishes and pans to wash afterwards. I dig my electric griddle out, it makes the whole process easier.

Only when its really cold or I'm out of cold cereal. My wife likes big breakfast, eggs, bacon all the stuff. I don't so I'll just pick at it, I know it takes a lot of effort to fix it but I've always been an eat and go guy. If I want a hot breakfast I'll have to fix oatmeal. A hot breakfast is great though, it makes you feel alive.

Because I have been staying up way too late at night playing poker I tend to sleep fairly late into the mornings. By the time my body says it is hungry it is often one in the afternoon so I am more likely to just grab a bowl of cereal and leave the hot meal for dinner I don't think having a hot breakfast is any more or less important as long as one eats something

My daughter and I normally don;t have breakfast. So It's not the meal I stress cooking. I like to have a nice hot dinner to eat at night. I have not had breakfast at all and it's lunch time now.
