What's your favorite dog breed?

Now, I love dogs, and there's something to be said for the pleasure of having a good old fashioned mutt in your life. They really are great. But if you were out to get a specific breed, what would it be? Why? I've got a few that I really like. For starters, I've always wanted a husky. I think they're beautiful dogs and all of the ones I've ever been around had a great disposition. Sheba Inu is another that I really like. They're beautiful and smart. I had a pitt bull mix once, and I would have no issues with getting a pure bred (starting out as a puppy so I can be sure of his training, of course). They're also beautiful, playful and fiercely loyal. My aunt had a Black Lab/Husky mix that was just an amazing dog all around. That's another that I would love -- dunno if it's considered an officially recognized breed or mixed breed, but Tonka was an amazing dog. How about you?

I love dogs and my favorite breed would be a golden cocker spaniel. I think they are so very sweet looking and they have a friendly personality. I wouldn't be able to have one because of my allergies. I needed to get a non-moulting breed. I therefore got two miniature poodles. The larger type would be a standard poodle and there is a smaller type called the toy poodle. In the USA they have the tea cut poodle and they are even smaller, tiny in fact. Poodle breeders like solid colors like white, apricot, gray, brown or black. Secret my first dog is unusual looking. He is white with black patches and a bit of apricot. Magic is my second dog and she is plain black. I like husky dogs but I think they moult.

I have to say, I love my Papillion. They are so cute would remind you of Gizmo from the movie Gremlins and have the best personality. I would highly recommend them to anyone who was looking for a small house dog. They will conform to most any life style and love to snuggle.

I love mutts.. they're great! I have 2 COLLIES, and Collie mixes.. Collies have always been on my "list" since I was a child. I also thought I wanted a Husky And German Shepherd back then.. I have since learned a little more about dogs. And although I completely agree with you- HUSKIES are beautiful.. I would get a MALAMUTE before I got a Husky.. I have figured out (by knowing quite a few) that Huskies - will take off.. (if not exercised ALOT) since the running is in their blood -if they escape - they are gone.. :-) My first dog was a Malamute mix and they are more lumberers.. they have great stamina- but don't have the NEED FOR SPEED.. they are nice and quiet (except if a fire truck goes by :) lol) My dog was a Malamute/Lab mix and he was THE BEST.. Generally, I am not a lab person.. but if they are MIXED with the right dog.. they are great.. I would not get a full bred LAB.. to hyper. and I like fluffy dogs :) I would still get a German Shepherd if I have an opportunity. The dog HIGH on my list and I realize this contradicts what I just said about FLUFFY dogs.. is A GREAT DANE! The bigger the better for me.. and I think they are so regal looking. I just want one- I would love a Harlequin (love the coloring) or a merled variety. I would take a great dane mix if it had the right looks and size :-) for my old age (when I can't handle the big dogs anymore) I would go small and get a corgi or a pappillon.

Right now I'm waiting on a breeder's list to get a Brussels Griffon. It's a toy breed on the rare side. It'll be born soon and I'll be getting it by March.I can't wait .I did all this research on the dog.I read about the breed so I know if I'll be happy with it.It's an easy to care for breed.I like it so I can carry it where ever I go.Being out of work,I have alot of time to care for the puppy.I also like large breeds, but I don't have the proper energy to care for them, people who are the outdoor type can keep dogs like that.I don't even have a fenced in yard.Large breeds like when their owner plays with them outside.I get periods where I don't have energy,so I won't take on a dog like that.
