a couple of weeks ago i was taking off my sock and while doing so i felt an almighty pain shoot through my foot,it felt like i'd twanged a muscle or something(if that's possible)after hopping around and swearing for a few minutes i looked down at my foot, and there was a big purple bruise and a lump on it and the vein was bulging,my foot was ok before i got my sock caught on it,,how could taking a sock off bruise me so badly that it lasted for 2 weeks,,my kids and my man think i'm a freak,,lol,,please give me a reasonable explanation for this,so i can prove i'm not a freak, thanks

Hi, doormouse. I am very sorry that this has happened to you. I know that when I put my socks on or move my feet a certain way, my feet will get into a cramp. It is like I pull my muscle or something. But my feet is not bruised. Maybe you should see a Podiatrist. That way they can take a look at your feet and tell you what is wrong. Let them know what has happened to you. Give them all of the details about this incident. I hope that your foot will feel better very soon.

First off, are you on any blood thinning medications? I do not know what else to say. You do not remember hurting your foot in any way?

doormouse hi I have a hunch that after I read your description you had a partial tendon tear, and it would heal but take several weeks or more to do so. Some sudden movement with your foot and leg,and voila ouchie, I did a real number just exercising running in place, and came down wrong on my ankle, went to my primary care doctor who was a quack, he thought I had sprained my ankle but he finally sent me to a specialist who told me the truth,I did not just partly tear anything but ruptured the big tendon in my foot and because of the time lapse and my age they could not operate on it so now have a brace on that leg. Partial tendon tears heal with a bit of exercise but are sore for several weeks, I had those in both legs when I forgot to stretch before exercising so they sent me for physical therapy but in just one spot they told me it would heal by itself so I bet you that is what happened.if it bothers you again do see your doctor.

Hi there Door Mouse. That really sounds painful, and you are saying that all this pain and suffering just for taking of that sock ? Sounds a bit to easy to get wounds, perhaps you should see a doctor ? Or maybe the socks are bad, try some other type. On a side note, my girlfriend also gets bruises on her feet, especially from unexpected hits (like when sleeping, or hitting a desk in college), and she almost every day of the month has at least one. Well take better care ! Cheers.

It is soo easy to hurt your feet when doing silly things,i mean look at me i hurt the same toe twice by just tapping it on the bottom of the same door frame twice.I hate it as i think when you have a sore place on your foot it hurts as well as takes longer to heal as you are always getting up and down and having to bare the weight on it.
