Okay, i hope that i am not going to offend anybody. When you dish up the meals, who in your household gets the biggest plate? I was taught that men normally get more food than everyone else. Such things never bothered me, but in the 17 years that i am cooking for me and my hub, he always complain that his food is too much. We are not that big eaters and sometimes when we go for lunch or dinner to his parents, his mom will stock that plate of his, i am sure that 4 people can eat from that. You should see his expression. It is actually funny. Is it really neccesary for smeone to get more food than others. Children excluded.

I think there must be some science behind men having larger portions. This is probably due to physical differences as men are largeley bigger than women. Also if you look at the recomended daily allowances for things such as fat and other ingredients in food the recomended daily allowance is usually higher for men than women.

Well, I can't say that I am serving food yet (lol) but my father always used to get the bigger plate or bowl. He does eat a lot and he always needs to eat that much, and my mother just got less food (or a smaller bowl). I guess sometimes it is necessary because the person who is hungrier or needs more food will probably need it. Any other person who does not have an appetite won't want to eat too much, so that leaves the food for the other person.

I know that my dad could eat. You would be astonished at how much. He never even gained one pound. So if your Dad loves te eat, let him enjoy every bite of it. It goes to show that not only does he loves his food, but the one who cooked it, know what she is doing.

I do have a tendency to serve larger portions to men... I guess it was something I was taught to do automatically by my mother. I mean, most men I know do eat more than I do... but I guess it's generalizing to assume that we have to pile up their plates compared to anyone else. I just do it, without even thinking about it. Then again, I get accused of over-feeding just about everyone that comes to my house LOL I would hate to have anyone leave my table and still be hungry.

Well, at least everybody get enough to eat and if that is the way you are doing it, enjoy it. It is always nice to feed people and to know that they enjoy beign spoiled. Have a nice day.
