What has been your experience with free webspace?

I'm looking for some free webspace. Here's the thing. I'm in Germany, and due to some political restrictions of the program for which I am here, I am only allowed to build websites on German servers. I know, that's a weird rule that doesn't make any sense, but there's no point in me fighting it. That being said, I wanted to ask here and get some opinions. I could use my normal webhost and just access it through a proxy, but that's risky if I get caught. I found a German host that offers free webspace ( http://spacequadrat.de/ ) which I might just use. I dunno. German products are good, right? I should just use the German hosting and be done with it, right?
