What are your views on Tumeric?

One of my employees reccommended Tumeric for a cold. I was told to mix 1/2 teaspoon with warm milk and drink it right before bed. I think it worked. I started to read up on it alittle and it seems to cure just about everything. Is this true? What do you use it for? Do you take capsules or do you mix powder with liquid or do you add it in your cooking? I want to start using it and need to know how. Thanks everyone!
