Must Develop a real time project in java??

In my 4th semester classes i and my team are asked to do any real time application of java as a big project. I have only some of the basics of java and i can also write complex programs , but i am confused of how to take the topic for our project. If anyone had done some interesting topics in java just give me the gist of it, i don't need the full details . For a student what project will be best suited??
