I'm a big LOTR fan...and I can't wait to see it!
Its actually a pre-quel...about the hobbits, and I think its gonna be shown in 2012. gah...a long way to go!3 responses

They've planned to film the Hobbit and a prequel to the LOTR. I don't think there's much rumours as to what the prequel will be about, but it's supposed to be from the time between the Hobbit and the first Lord of the Rings film.
Same composer I think, Peter Jackson is not director but producer? Something like that. No pictures yet, but they'll film it in New Zealand I suppose so the scenery will not be very British, but will look great :-)

But what part will Orlando Bloom play in a film about the life of the Hobbits? Random elves passing by would either be on their way to the Havens (and he can't go there 'cause then he wouldn't have been in the LOTR films) or be some kind of wanderers, and the Mirkwood Elves don't seem to wander a lot.
So to have Orlando do anything else but show his face in his fathers halls when the dwarves pass through Mirkwood and possibly in the battle of the five armies, they'll have to put in something more than hobbits. Maybe how they chased the Necromancer (?) away in the Hobbit. Or add some elves to chase away the wolves, PJ sent them to Helms deep, so why not? ;-)
Personally, I'd like to see more Sean Bean so I think they should film more of Gandalf and Aragorns time in Minas Tirith.

If there's a The Hobbit movie,I've love to see it.I was a fan of The Hobbit as a kid but didn't really get into Lord of The Rings because it was so long and boring to read.With so many characters its hard to remember who's who so I stopped trying to read it.The hobbit was quite a short read and aptly titled by Bilbo There and Back Again.
