If you wait long enough. Everything comes to you...

Well this is a quotation of Garfield that sometimes i think applies to our life. For example in my case... i have been searching for a job since November and the first that i applied for were 2 software companies and now, after about 3 months i have been called for an interview tomorrow by one of them. So i will be possibly getting a job that i like and is part time if all things go well. My question for you: does this quotation apply to you ? Have you ever been presently surprised by something you done long ago (be it a late response to a job application or a letter that you got a late response... or something else ) ? Do share...

your discussion is telling me that i have to wait for another 6 months to attend an interview after i finish my college..i'm on my final semester. This is actually unrelated to the discussion..I'm sorry.. Once during an examination i got failed in a paper during he first phase of the corrections, but i believed that i would clear, so i applied for re valuation and i waited for another 2 months and i passed the paper. This quotation is suiting me at all matters

No, i am not saying that for all jobs you have to wait 6 months, it's just that some jobs take longer then others to select their candidates. I was interviewed twice by the Marriott Hotel in Bucharest for an internship, and was rejected in the end - the total time since i applied until i got the final answer was about 2 months. I have a friend that works at HP. He had no prior work experience but he knew both english and german - he waited about 1 year, and had many interviews but now he get a salary bigger then my dad, who has over 20 years of experience in his field of work, and has a good job. Buttom line is, great companies don't rush into hiring people, and sometimes they keep your resume (CV) for up to 1 year and in case there is an opening where they consider you to be fit, they call you and ask if you are still interested and if yes then you go to an interview.

I can't think of anything with that scenario but I am a patient person. For instance, I wanted some curtain tiebacks, the pretty kind that you can just lift your curtains and drape them over the tiebacks. But they were $14-30 a pair and I refused to pay that price as it would have destroyed my budget. So I waited, and waited..finally I was in Walmart one day and saw a clearance bin. There were the exact number of tiebacks I needed, at $1 a pair! I saved about $80!

... still waiting elitess. Maybe by the time you read this you've already gone through your interview. I hope you did well and gotten the job, if you really like it. When I was still going crazy looking for a job, I signed up with all the help I could. I signed up on all on-line job boards, monster, careerbuilder, etc. And I've also signed up with all agencies around locally. There was a time I would get 2 or 3 calls a week from all these companies. It soon subsided. Now, 4 years later, I still get emails once in a while for opportunities that I might be interested. It's a pleasant surprise specially if it's really a good job worth pursuing.

Well, I do agree with this quotation at some point, but in my opinion, this is not right at all. Everything comes when we try our best to achieve it. If we just waited and waited, nothing will surely happen. Not so much, but at least some effort is necessary.

It’s funny you should say that because I was in the shower this morning feeling quite thankful for all that I have and the realisation came to that whenever I wish for something, as long as I am patient, it eventually does come to me; just not in the way I had expected a lot of the time! The best example for my husband and I was when we were trying desperately to conceive and it took almost six years of stress and medical procedure before we fell pregnant naturally! You wouldn’t read about it, would you? I had to face never having children during these six years and I recall thinking that I would cope but if my sister fell pregnant that would be hard for me and I didn’t know how I would manage. Well lo and behold my sister and I fell pregnant at the same time and our babies are 12 days apart, both girls!

Not all actually, I am also waiting for a job that i really wanted and it takes me for about 2 years to get that job, so it is worth waiting for. But it is not applicable all the time because god wont let you wait for the long time if the things that you are waiting is not really meant for you. Instead, he will give you the best one. That is more proven and I have some proof of it.

Strangely enough, I think that the opposite always seems to happen to me. Unless I actually go out there and be assertive in what I want, it never seems to come with me. I can't just sit there and let everything in life be handed to me, I need to grab it by the horns, as it were

Yes, I think this is one of the laws of Murthy, when you want something strongly, , you want to be fulfilled, be sure this will happen much later when you close you forget about your desire. Maybe are just coincidences, or is an exercise of patience and trust that sooner or later your desire will come to be true. Usually this happens in relationships when after a long time, somebody start to realize that he want in his life, when usually it's too late..

Hi elitess,It does not happen to me but I believe that there will be a time for every thing. For us to achieve things that we want we need to work hard and patiently wait to come.We don't need to rush to obtain a good results.Good Luck!
