Like I wrote prior, I am trying to be better at running my craft business. I have problems with the bookkeeping part of it. I am unclear about a couple of things, and I would appreciate it if I can get some opinions. Here are my questions. How do you keep track of your stock especially beads? Do you count them and then subtract what you used? Do you have a spreadsheet listing all the raw materials?

I used to sell my items at a craft mall and I would run into similar problems. Do you know approximately how many projects you can get out of one package of beads? I broke down my raw materials in units with each unit equaling one project. For example, if I could make 12 pairs of earrings with one package of beads, I would say I had 12 units of beads, not one package. That way, I could more accurately figure out my cost per item. I hope that makes sense!

No, I don't,but it is something I can start looking at and see how much is needed for a project. I have set a couple of hours aside today to work on my beading so I will try it that way and see how it comes out.
