Notification from myLot?

Hi there, dear myLot friends.
Is this part of the all new myLot? That when I opened my email program, I noticed one new title of notifications that is coming from myLot. Actually, there are 3 of them and I wonder what does it really mean.
"Notification from myLot" is the title and the message says:
[i]This is a notification from myLot.
Your answer has been deleted because the question it was under was deleted.
Thank you for using myLot![/i]
Is this part of the new myLot? And what does this mean? Have you noticed this one lately or did you receive such kind of email or notification today?

It seems there's some serious information lacking in the notifications that are going out when you've responded to a discussion that's been deleted. We're looking at this and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can. In the meantime, we've had a lot of mail queued up so it's all going out now. I'm REALLY sorry if we're hammering you with mail. That wasn't our intention.

I think there is something fishy here. I got the same notification, but I only responded to one discussion today, a discussion on a movie, and it was clearly not in violation of any mylot rules. It seems odd that we are all gettingthis- could it be a bug?

I received three of those messages today too. I think this is all part of the new myLot that wants to keep their members informed instead of leaving them in the dark about what has happened (eg. earnings decreasing). Yeah, like most people already mentioned, it would be good if we could be told of which discussion got deleted, so we at least know what are those discussions that violate the myLot terms of use and we can avoid such discussions in future and also advice those members who are unaware. I also noticed some other changes on myLot today; the front page layout is slightly different from before although the main idea is still the same. In addition, we also have more emoticons to use from now on. And it seems when Alice comments she has a "myLot admin" star next to her username, which is so cool. It would be awesome if we members could have stars or badges to acknowledge our hard work and participation here as well.....

Hmmm, maybe a nice big N and V would be good to distinguish new members from the veteran ones.... Anyway, another issue from that is how you define veteran members; should it be done based on the number of posts or the length of time a member has been on myLot? But that's another issue which I'll leave the admin to deal with....
On another note, I don't mind myLot spamming us, as long as there aren't any viruses in the spam.....

spamming is what one member told to be mylot is doing, as the title of his discussion. it's not my idea, you know.

could be a good suggestion there gerald. but how could a new member or a veteran member badge would look like? 
any way, Alice is now working with this one, so we have just to bear with them. one discussion i have read earlier, he call this voluminous notification as spamming... mylot is spamming us?

Yes. It is. I had suggested that we be told why discussions/comments/responses get deleted. And my suggestion has been accepted.

Well, this is good. I have received some notification regarding to my activity at myLot. Now we may know why our ratting is going down and we may know which one was our answer or discussion have deleted by myLot. This notification may guide us to do better in the future. Now I know which one is violating guidelines and which one is allowed. Thanks to myLot staffs.

that is something missing in the notification. it could be better if there is at least a date or title of the discussion we have responded to.

I got that email too from myLot. And I got seven of them! And they're all notifying that some of my posts were deleted. Only two notifications offered a reason and that's because the discussion was a game-poll type. And the discussion was very very old as far as I can remember.
Maybe this is part of the all new myLot although in the discussion of the myLot admin about the new myLot look, there was nothing said about this. Well, I haven't given this a thought but I guess myLot will going to be really strict in our discussions from now on. ^^

Hi Neil, it is strange you say that so far I have been informed that quite a few responses of mine have been deleted to am not sure what is happening but think it might be a glitch or something..am sur e Alice will sort it out I have also asked myLot about it hopefully they will reply...LoLo

hi littleowl. there is actually a mention by alice in this thread that they will soon fix the problem. ans as of this moment, emails of this kind come in with the title of the deleted discussions i have replied to, so, basically now, we have the idea of what was the discussion, and so we can at least recall have a recall and be aware of such type of topics. a lot of thanks to alice the admin...

Hi, neil. Yep, this is part of the new myLot.
I received a few of them myself, neil. I wish they would let us know which responses were deleted or at least which discussions. I do not remember responding to anything that obviously would be deleted but who knows which discussions will get deleted?
You know about that one I had deleted recently. They claim it was a "milestone" discussion. I don't consider winning something a milestone, especially when I never expected to win in the first place! But, it's their rules so I'll have to keep news like that to myself from now on. At least they are now letting us know which discussions are being deleted and the reason why.

that really goes with this discussion, why were those responses were deleted is understandable as they commit violations, but to let us know when or just the title of the discussion would be fine if detailed in the notice.
you mean, you contacted mylot about your recently deleted discussion? i really can't see any violations to that topic, how much i am trying to look at it, going back through the lines.
anyway, i still have it and i will keep it as a remembrance.

oh i see. a mylot notification telling us of our discussion got deleted. so far, i haven't receive such kind and all that i got right, about 25 of them now, is of deleted answers/responses. i hope i won't get any similar to what you've got.
i just thought, mylot have more time screening new discussions. those discussions that will be created after the release of the new mylot. those created long time ago, might get overlooked.

They sent me an email explaining why that discussion was deleted. They'll now let you know if it was your discussion but not if you've only commented on a discussion that gets deleted. I wish they'd let is know what the discussions we commented on were if they get deleted instead of just letting us know that we had a comment deleted.
Since they said that discussion of mine was a "milestone" discussion, it makes me wonder how many discussions will get deleted if they only talk about going back to school or graduating from school, getting married or having anniversaries, since they are milestones, too. Discussions about each new year are milestone discussions, too.

for now, i am enjoying the new features and found no other problems aside from this one. i love the comment alerts coming in fast, so we can continue the communication without missing one entry. the more emoticons available. and this one, while in the comment box, we can see all the entries/comments after the original response. so, how about you?

Hello neil yes that's right that's what i observed few days passed after alice upgraded mylot..i don't understand. There were lots of topics that when I was about to reply it was gone..i could only read "this topic has been deleted for some violation" i don't know what was the violation....

hehe! I just wished I knew what the question or topic it was. But anyway, I think admin is doing an awesome job. They've done fabulous changes in here and getting some notification such as that is an indication for us to choose quality and non-repetitive topic.

that actually made me come up with this discussion, no idea which of them were deleted. more detailed notice so we can be more aware and careful next time. but mylot and GoAskAlice really done a great job to make myLot really BETTER...

Hi neildc! I have received that kind of notification from mylot too. Yes it is part of the new changes. I think it is good, at least we are not surprise to see that our numbers are going down... without knowing the reason. I just wish, they included that discussion we responded which was been deleted. I think that is more clearer.

Hi again neildc! Well that is a good change... At least now we know which ones are deleted... But getting another notification like that from them is not good news though... Oh thanks!! I have no idea about that too since I just came back here and as I read the responses to this post, I knew that notification will be sent when your discussion will be deleted. That is good at least we have an idea of why our posts decreases and even our earnings are affected and we are confused why but now, we have a clear view that if there is notification, there is something wrong.

I had two of them but it didnt really explained wich discussions those were and why they were all deleted. I hope in the future, they get to explain everything about the deletion or at least mention on the notification which discussions they were so we will have an idea. :D

the notifications that i am receiving right now already contains the title of the discussion. though the reason behind the deletion is not present, at least we can now be aware of such discussions and avoid answering those kinds.

they actually told us within this thread that they will fix the problem as soon as they can. let's just give Alice and the staff do the rest of their work. in the mean time, what we should do is enjoy the new site and the most improved features, like mylot code with new set of emoticons.

the reason for deletion is what we want to know. but mylot admin is , or will work on this matter as soon as they can. just relax and enjoy the new site. new mylot has a lot of new exciting features so keep logged in and post participate more.
