Disappointed with Associated Content

Is anyone else disappointed with associated content lately? I've submitted three articles, that have been waiting for well over a week for approval or rejection. The assignment desk I've noticed is also pretty mundane. Dance, American Idol, prom related stuff, the weather, and St. Patrick's Day. I don't want to waste my time writing a ton of articles, then have to wait for weeks on pins and needles unsure if they are going to be accepted or not. The last project (before this) that I submitted was an article on back to school health tips. My grammar was clean, yet they did not like the style in which my list was formatted. Has anyone else experienced such issues?

I am amazed that so many people seem to have problems with AC reading their articles or getting them approved. I have been writing for AC for a year and a half. In that time, I have only written 70 articles. Still, I am not having any problems with them. My articles are usually reviewed within a week's time. Sure, the first few articles took longer than the rest but I guess that was because I was a newbie. Now that I have been writing for them for a while, the articles are approved within a week. I have never had to wait longer. In fact, I just wrote an article after taking off for about six months. I figured it would take a while to get it approved, but I received an offer for the article within 3 days. I think it depends on what types of articles you are writing. If there are a lot of travel articles or medical articles, then the readers for those would be backlogged and it would take a bit of time while the other articles were going through just fine. As I said, I have always been satisfied with AC. Sure, I would like to make a little more money, lol but it is enough. I have also found that if I write a few articles a day, within a week I am making money every day so that is nice. The assignment desk has been kinda blah, but I do not really look at that much anyway. As for being rejected, I guess I have been lucky. I have written a total of 71 articles and have only had 1 rejected - because I had written a similar article a few weeks before and they felt the two articles were too much alike. I have found that we writers have many peaks and valleys in our careers. Just keep plugging away and I am sure it will get better.

It is a long time since I wrote for AC; but I am ok with it, though I have slow earnings there. Moreover I can only get page views there and no upfront payment there. Tell me your name there and I shall look up some articles of yours and include you in my list .

I didn't realize you had to wait for approval. I signed up for both Associated Content and Helium around the same time. I wrote a bunch of articles for Helium, and I did get paid, but not a lot. I never did write anything for Associated Content, though. If I remember right, Helium requires prior approval of the topic, but not of the actual article.

Are you dispapointed? You can try bukisa or some other thing. If you want invitation, just send me a message. You do not have to worry, unless they publish it. Try your luck and see what works.

Unfortunately sometimes, Associated Content can be one of the hardest sites to Write for and have something be excepted. I know personally I have submitted a lot of stuff from time to time and got quite a bit rejected as well. But when you really think about all of the people who could be submitting Writings to there I am sure they have a lot of stuff to go thru. Just keep your head high and don't be too disappointed when things do not go as planned. Wishing you the Best.

I have submitted 3 articles to Associated Content and 2 were approved. One is still pending. I don't know how it will do payment-wise, I'll let you know. Don't get discouraged that they didn't like your writing because of a technicality. It might be just one person's opinion, and not the whole AC community. Don't give up and keep writing. Try Bukisa.com too.

I find it really depends on the week how long it takes for things to go through the queue. I am a featured Travel Contributor and those three offers a month are about the only ones I submit for pay these days. Mostly I have written on timely things (the Olympics) lately and public as Display Only, so they skip the approval process, but still gain me about a $1 a day in page views. Not that big of a money maker, but I seem to do better there than on my own blogs. http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/36924/kjersti_wasiak.html

..hi.. I'm also a member of associated content and I think there is really something negative about them.. they don't readily edit and publish articles.. In my experience, bukisa is better..

No I just recently signed up and haven't written anything yet. I am going to check out the American Idol I watched that show from the beginning. Hopefully I can write something good for them. I know this site is recommended a lot around here and I haven't read anything negative. I am hoping some people who use this site will respond I am curious to see what others have to say. Sorry I couldn't be of more help just trying to get on and maybe someone would see it. I would say don't give up and keep writing.
