WASHINGTON -- Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Donald Kohn will resign from the Fed on June 23 after 40 years of work at the central bank and at its regional banks, the Fed said Monday. Kohn, 67, has been on the Fed's board since 2002 and has been vice chairman since 2006. Kohn was a top economic adviser to then-Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan before joining the board as a governor. Kohn's resignation would leave three vacancies on the seven-member board.
What is your opinion? He could be leaving simply because he is 67n and has had enough. But I think more and more people do not want their name attached to all of the crap in Washington. I think it is the latter.
What is your opinion?

It's probably a combination of both. Many politicians, both rep and dem, are realizing that life is too short to waste their time on public service when they feel they are no longer allowed to serve the public's interest. I think that is the reason for so many decisions to get out of office and not run again.
