Gray color shoes

So I got an extra discount @ my work and I found a pair of sketcher shoes for like 60% off & in my size. However they are a silver-gray in color. I'm not sure I like them color wise.... but it is a style of shoe we can get away with at work as a "dress shoe" But would gray color shoes go with black and navy slacks? I'm someone who would say if you are wearing black pants you wear black shoes KWIM? What do you think? Would it look ok to wear them? A lady/customer in the shoe dept said that it would look fine. But I dunno.... all I know is I need a new pair of shoes for work & these are sneaker-ish & we are allowed to wear them.... it's just the color. Here's the style for your FYI http://www.skechers.com/shoes-and-clothing/brands/skechers_sassies/product/sassies/tpe but the color is called gun-metal and is a medium gray color.

I like them, but I wouldn't wear them with pants, I'd wear them with jeans

I can't wear jeans to work. It's casual business attire.

Honestly hun I might be the wrong person to be asking about this! The reason I say that is because ANYTIME I go to work (especially if I'm going to be on my feet all day) I will pick comfort over color, style, or anything else! I ALWAYS wear the comfiest pair of shoes to work! If other people don't like it then don't look I say!

That stinks you can't wear your Adidas shoes! You would think that the company that you work for would want you to be wearing comfy shoes so your feet don't kill! Just about every place I have worked has never cared about what kind of foot wear you wear!

You must have worked in some pretty laxed places. I think other than the sporting good store everywhere else had some sort of rule on shoes. Usually they can't be sneakers or look like them, no open toes..... this retail establishment says no sneakers unless you have a Dr's excuse. But seeing I hadn't worked in several years and having to wear dress shoes ( black lug soled ones) it took my feet months to adjust to wearing something w/ next to nill for support in them I was almost worried I was going to have to go to the Dr & get my feet checked out but then I remembered when I was 17 and got my first job that my feet hurt for a real long time then too.

That is true on the comfort issue. However, we only really get scheduled for 4-6hr shifts and to wear something comfy to me would be my Adidas shoes but since I don't have a medical excuse & I have wider feet it just all around sux finding anything.

They are cute. They will look good with either color.

there are shoe colors you can change it too - might just need to do it more often than you would an already black shoe

What color is the shirt you wear? Not that it matters, gray goes with anything, but it wouldn't look as good with orange as it would with red or blue. I say go for it. The price is right, they are acceptable to management and gray looks good with anything!

Right now we wear any color we want. They were going to go to an all black top & bottom but suspended that plan for now. I don't own any gray beyond sweat shirts *LOL* & I can't wear those to work. I usually wear a sweater of some sort or nice top w/ dress slacks.

That's what I say! If the price is right and they are comfy ... go for it!

I say that you should absolutely go for it. Gray is pretty much a neutral type of color so it really would look fine with navy or black pants (perhaps even better with the navy pants than black shoes would). Besides that, how many people are really going to be looking at your feet while you are working? Since you are on your feet you need to find the most comfortable shoes that you can find and while they may not be the color that you really desire, they will suit your needs just fine.
