They say, sheep aren't smart. They tend to wander into running creeks for water, then their wool grows heavy and they drown. In Matthew 9:36 it says "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." so, they need a shepherd to lead them to calm water. Sheep need a shepherd with a rod and.....(Ps.23:4) Sheep life are made as an example of human life. What do think, are sheep really need a shepherd?

Interesting - I'd say yes, because us humans can be our worst enemy - we're bull-headed, thick-headed, hot-headed, & air-headed at times - I thank G-d that we have a Shepherd to guide us! :-)

Sheperds do not keep sheep out of love for or to the benefit of sheep. Sheperds keep sheep in order to serve the shepherd's needs: fleecing and slaughter. It's truly an unfortunate metaphor.

Yeah! In the Bible, as I understand, the literal meaning of sheep are people, and the shepherd is The Lord, which is emphasized in Psalm 23:1 "The Lord is my shepherd" Thanks!

The shepherd in human life is the pastor and they help you understand the bible, and without them many people who dont understand would not be able to get enough of the learning that they need, not because they are stupid or not smart but because sometimes when you are first learning the bible can be hard to learn. You dont want sheep to fall by the wayside because they dont have someone to lead them to a clear understanding and on the right path.
