Ugh! I just answered this and my stupid browser went blank! So here goes again. I'm answering from my e-mail, so some of these fads might have already been mentioned. I grew up in the '80s, and I remember jelly shoes and friendship bracelets were all the rage. Then in the '90s, it seemed that every teenage girl wore a hat. I remember watching an episode of Beveryly Hills: 90210 (I wasn't allowed to watch that show, my parents just didn't catch me that one time), and seeing Brenda and Donna wearing hats. My sister had a hat just like the ones they wore, and I always wanted to borrow it.

I am not into fads, but I remember pet rocks and many other things. Two years ago the big thing with the children was, well I forget what they're called, but these cups that you stack a certain way and then time your self as to how fast you can unstack them.

Big hair, granny boots, bracelets half way up the arm. Does this give away that I was an 80's lady? I was into the whole rock scene. I know there are people who say they regret those days but I'll never be one of them. They were some of the most fun days in my life. Now I go into stores and see that some of those fads are starting to make a come back, perhaps a little different but along the same lines. Look at some of the short skirts in the malls right now. If only I looked as good now as I did then, lol. I would so be buying those outfits again. Those were the days.

I remember the plaid pants. When I was in high school, we only had to wear monogrammed shirts. And we could wear whatever pants we wanted. So for the general population, it meant jeans. Which was pretty cool.
One season, someone had the bright idea of starting a fad wearing plaid pants. Maybe I was just so naive, or fashion-backward then that I actually owne 2 pairs of plaid pants.

I remember a few fads from my childhood. Things that were serious business back then, but when you look back at it, you wonder why this thing had ever gotten popular to begin with. This discussion I think begins with Beanie Babies. I remember a time years and years ago where these things were the rage and something that everyone had to have, no matter what. Either you had them or you were out of touch.
I think it was about 1996 or 1997 or so when these things were popular. That is the one that I remember a lot. There is another thing that was popular at least around school during the same time, but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was. I think there were many dances crazes and bands as well throughout my childhood that are maybe only a foot note in history. Fads are amusing to me and I tried to never get caught in them. In fact, there were a couple of things that I was into before they got popular and I always detested people jumping on the bandwagon, acting like they were there as long as me.

I also like the pandora bracelets. Another thing I like is 'bell bottoms'.. I Like how they are lose at the bottom and tighter at the top.
The thing I like about Fads, they ALWAYS come back.. *nods*
