I think and hope so. Batik is indeed unique, just like you said and I love it a lot. Not only they are comfortable to wear, they also look very fashionable now unlike in the past where batik were only worn by the elderly. More and more designers add batik into their collections and I think it's a good sign.

Hello Bu Nophie,
Long time no replay your discussion :)
Batik is cultural heritage of our country, Batik Has been being popular since UNESCO contended that batik is Cultural Heritage of Indonesia (2/10/09) and before this moment several of our culture had claimed by another country (you know it?). So enthusiasm and sense of belonging and love to country was very high.
With this incident, I believe that batik trend is not at a moment. In school, government, private sector once a week people always use batik. Batik is not frippery. Depending on quality, art work, style and technology, batik has bright future. So don't hesitate to this. Stay give good attitudes wearing batik to younger people it can keep our cultural heritage.
Regards.
