Freedom versus prison

We usually don’t value what we have until we loose it ,I bet many will agree with me if you have ever gone into some sort of cofinement or the other before. Many times when people get arrested for one crime or the other and are convicted and sentenced to a jail term ,I ask myself if it is really worth it to loose your freedom and go into confinement and then come back worse,I have seen people go into jail only to come back worse than when they went in as they mix with criminals from various walks of crime who have vowed never to be recreated and also you find that most of these first time offenders have to learn one or two things as the lie in the prison is survival and nothing more,I will like to ask is it worth it to actually put people behind bars for crime if they will only come out to become hardened,?
