When the iPhone 3GS came out, there was an additional app called the "Compass" that I feel was really cool!
But I was actively using the older model. And cannot have that app!
When I did an upgrade to a windows mobile phone, I was disappointed that there is no compass app as well.
So I went searching around for it on the web. Guess what?!?
They DO HAVE a compass app for the windows mobile phone!
I was so excited! I immediately set up the application on my phone!
Cool! I now have a digital compass with me on my phone!!!
Man~~~~! I am loving my new phone more and more!
Check out the screen shot of the compass app!

YEah, the iphone 3GS do really have the compass in it.. lol =D BUt majority of the iphone users wont have much use for the compass, unless they are adventurous ple, whom are always driving to other neighbouring countries, and this compass will be an advantage to them.. lol =D
BEcause it's not just having the normal NSWE, but it's being added with degrees as well, making it more accurate.. lol =D IT's good for hikers and trekkers too!! hehe

In fact I also have a compass installed in my cellphone. But after I seeing your attached photo. I found that your compass software is better than mine because it looks very professional:) Would you please share it with me?
I love China

ahgong,
Just one observation here.
Until the day when they can have a more rugged designed iPhone or Android or smart phone with solar energizing battery cells - there's just no way I am going to use it in the fields, if you know what I mean.
I just do not think that any of the current phones are capable to withstand the harsh and brutal elements out there.
Cheers.
Cheers.
