I have been happy at my latest job. I was unemployed for 7 months. So in December when I got the perfect job two days before christmas I was thrilled. However, the job was only for Saturdays and Sundays. I really loved the job I just wanted more hours so I wouldn't have to find another job. Then I realized I that I wouldnt be needing to look for another job. The other two people never showed up I was always working at least 4 days a week. Better than nothing right. Also this patient also required someone to clean up her room and do personal care tasks as well. Because I wasnt working full time, I decided to take on the PCA aspect as well. I was also able to hire my daughter for the light work. Well my daughter just had emergency surgery so I now will be covering her two days. I normally work Monday, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Now I will also be working Fridays, and Sundays too. Then as I get to work yesterday, I find that the women we hired for Tuesdays and Thursdays quit. She didnt even work yet! I wanted to work Tuesdays and Thursdays along with my three other days. Now I have to work EVERY day until my daughter gets well. It could be more than a month! I asked for it, I got IT! Help me! If I complain, she will hire someone else and when my daughter comes back I will be back at square one. I am looking on the bright side. MORE MONEY! For the government to tax.lol Anything like that ever happen to you? dl

Hi DL... Well this string of events certainly seems to fanciful and wonderful.. You began there with 2 days a week and now, you have ended up at the entire week work.. Gosh! I also work and I love to work, but I trust, one needs at least one off every week, that is necessary for health etc.
I am glad that you have been able to look at the bright side- more money!!! Good luck!!! I really can't suggest what can be done... sorry for that...

Im afraid that I may burn myself out if I keep doing this for any long period of time. I am just trying to make my patient's life as convenient as possible. Im filling in for my daughters work. She does the personal care aspect of the treatment. I dont want to have to hire someone else. If she does well maybe my daughter will not be needed. I am the case manager so I can assure her that I am not interested in her job. I have enough on my plate. dl

I don't know if that is true. As of my experienced I get what I want sometimes but it did happen on the time that I expected. it only happen after two years when I no longer need it. Like you, you wish for a job and it happened to you, I wished for a job before too, but it already given to me after two years which I no longer need it because i already have a job. I agree, you have to look on the bright side, you ask for a job be thankful that you already have it.

yup-when i worked in banquets.at one point i was doing like 108 hours a week.which is everyday,sometimes twice in a day.
the money was good,but i was kind of pissed at them-i told them i have a sick mom,1 shift only.
appearently,i was speaking swahili to them,because next i know i'm working doubles.

First of all i'm glad that you are having a lot of opportunities to earn money.
And you got your wish! Well complaining at times when you feel exhausted is natural but i'm sure its only for a moment for you know that working everyday means more money.
And you can save some so when times are hard, you have something to fall back to.
I do get my wishes, though it takes time and i get so amazed when its right there in front of me.
I believe that Someone up there knows what we wish for and He gives it to us at the right time.And He know when is the right time.

I have something similiar happening to me right now, but it doesn't envolve every day of the week fortunatly. I had work on a substitute basis and I was able to get a new job for 4 days a week. Actually I was hoping for 3 days a week but this company only works with 2 day or 4 day contracts. I won't get by working just two days, so I have to work 4 days a week. They also work 9 hours a day instead of 8 hours a day so I am switching from 24 hours a week to 36 hours a week in 4 days. I guess this will be quite a change, but I hope it won't be that much harder working an hour longer each day. Financially it's a good thing and if I have fun there I think I can manage

Boy you did didn't you. I hope you do ok. I have gotten a position at work that I wanted, but after I got there, it wasn't so good, they added more things to the job.

Since you know that your daughter will be coming back, do your best to hold on.It is also important for you client to be receiving good care by the same people. It will be hard tg different.to do, but I think you do have to limit this as soon as your client can do something about it, or you will completely burn out.

Trying to recall...my first job was at the fair. I was a goefer for the lots joints. I wanted to work there so if one of the guys needed a pop or something to eat I went after at down on the food court. Finally they had an opening and I was working in the nickel toss. Sticking around did the trick!

I guess you will just have to do the job until things change again. It's true we must be very careful what we wish for. Besides it's a waste of time and energy.
We need to stay centered on what we have and do the best with that. It's so easy to say those words, but I always think, what about those that are living without enough food or other basic necessities? Shouldn't they wish for something better.
Living in the now is fine for those of us who have food and shelter but the now is a pretty bad time for others not as well off, what do they do?

Lucky for you. Really, like you, we really have to be happy on whatever endeavor that we are inclined to in order for us to satisfy our needs in life. Hope that like you, I can too earn enough money, I mean more money not just for the government through taxes but for myself as well in order for me to buy things that I really wanted in my life.

I am glad that you were able to pick up more hours. I wish my husband can get more hours. His boss claims that there are not enough money in the budget, but yet he keeps on hiring new people. He has hired two new people full-time. I, on the other hand, have not been able to find work yet. I am in school which has helped me out because it keeps my mind busy. My husband is also attending school which is great.

Wow, it seems like you have a tight schedule. You can look at it two ways--more income but also too tiresome on your part to be working everyday and doing all the tasks. I really admire you for being so hardworking. Keep up the good spirit and more luck to you in your work.

You are very lucky to have whatever you wanted. It is said in our country that whatever you wish/desire or want GOD always says "TATHASTU" meaning thereby Let it happen like that. So whatever you think/wish from bottom of heart it happens, the force of nature alligne to make it happen. Thats whay it is said always think positive and seek good things.

That would be good for you, lucky for you that you get your wish in just a month. I guess you deserved that blessings. God really see it through our heart. He sees it that you are really sincere, because of the sufferings of your daughter that is why God blessed with that one. Hopefully you will stay long in that company or that work and keep on achieving your goal for the betterment of your daughter and family.
