I heard many times...due to lack of leadership(captaincy)..they had loss the game..i didn't think so...if the player of a team is not performing good..Captaincy can't do anything...If the a team won the match and all the credit goes to captain...because of his wisdom..they able to won the match..what's the wisdom they are talking about...they won the match because of team work...What u think about my view on this...?

Indeed a good team is needed to perform well and produce results..if I go by your theory then at the first place there is no need to have a captain..why should a team need a captain except to make a call while tossing the coin..however that's not the case in cricket..in some other sports like soccer may be your theory is applicable but not in cricket. Here a team needs someone who can read the game and take correct decisions at the oppurtune time. For example a team may be loaded with talented players but what's the use if they are not put to the ultimate use. It;s the captain who brings the best out of his players and he decides that tactics and technique to be adopted while the team is on the field as the team management is not in a position to take on field decisions. That's why a captain is needed.

Hi arun175 a team loses not because of wrong tactics of the captain but also due to faulty execution of plans .A captain can formulate plans but it is up to his team mates to deliver those on the field, what will a captain do if his bowlers bowls bad balls and not according to the field or what will he do if his batsmen cannot find the gap in the field or takes rash shots and get out. However a good captain may be he needs a good team to produce results and so does a good team needs a good captain to win games.

A good captain is a person who gives credit for wins to his team, but takes the blame himself for losses. A captain's job is to think on the field, set the right field for different batsmen, use the right bowlers, motivate everybody to perform to potential, and, at the same time, perform with bat or ball himself. In short, lead by example, not by lecturing.

Yes i think only a captain is not responsible for their loosing .. also team efforts important for this.. because a captain only give advise to their bowler and batsman and fielder that how they play well and also it is important things.. for a captain and that things is strategy of any team.. so whole team efforts also important for winning any match.. have a nice day and keep mylotting always..
