Time to break out the lawn mower that is. We moved into this house back in October after the lawn stopped needing to be mowed, so this is the first time I have had to mow the lawn here. So, today I went out an bought a gas can to fill the lawnmower up and mowed the lawn. Oh, I was so tired when I got done with the back yard. It had gotten a little taller in some spots than others, so it was a little harder to push in a few spots. Have you mowed your lawn yet this Spring? Do you do it yourself or does someone do it for you? If you live in an apartment, has the maintenance mowed there yet?

My husband and I got a new mower this spring. As it is self propelled (with key start), I've been doing the majority of the mowing lately. I always knew that we had a big yard, but I never realized how big it was until I started mowing the lawn. However, I love being able to mow it without having to rely on my husband to do it. He works hard enough as it is. He shouldn't have to be the only one to do this too. Plus, it gives me a good workout. Something I could always use anyway, even if I do work up a sweat.
Happy mylotting!

That sucks. It's cool that your landlord bought you a new one though (even if it isn't brand spanking new).
My landlord doesn't do that. But at least we get a break on the rent. LOL

My lawn mower got stolen a few weeks ago and my landlord brought me a new(to me) the next day. Neither were self propelled though. I have a fairly big back yard and my front yard is a hill, so that gives me a bit of a workout. I sweat like crazy and feel like I am going to die when I am done, but I guess that is good for me.

Wow already?! My hubby does the mowing at our house. Usually doesn't start until the weather warms up and the ground dries up. The weather is currently warming up (with a few relapses into chillier temps) but the ground is sodden due to some recent storms.

Hi lilybug, we have a small area of lawn in our front courtyard. Though it's not big but the grasses grow rapidly. It worse still during rainy season. Mosquitoes like living in these wet and long grasses. It's really irritating to get the disgusting bite at any time when having outdoor activities. We are afraid that the awful bite would cause the dengue hemorrhagic fever. Therefore we have to get someone to mow it regularly
to prevent these blood sucking creatures to harbor among them.
This usually is done by a part time gardener once in a month or so. This depends on how rapid the grasses growing. After mowing, the gardener will sweep and collect the grasses and dump them under the two rambutan trees. Grasses can be turned into good compose for our vegetable plants
Happy posting

I live in an apartment and there is a park with grass and lots of bushes and trees between my block and the next one. The council look after it and they mowed it for the first time last week. They also pruned all the trees too.
I love the smell of freshly cut grass but I am so pleased that someone else is mowing it
