A young couple going to a party, called a babysitting agency for their baby. The babysitter who was usually coming was sick and the agency sent another. They were surprised when she arrived : she was a hippie. They were open minded and went quietly to their party. Later, the mother phoned to the babysitter to verify if everything was going well. She replied : "Don't worry ! Everything's ok. I reheat the turkey for dinner." The young woman was anxious after this call, and said to her husband that they had to go home ; something was weird : they had bought no turkey. Nobody opened the door. The babysitter was in the lounge, her eyes looking to the ceiling. She was drugged. They found in the kitchen, wrapped up in aluminium, their baby cooked and partly eaten. Do you trust your babysitter ?

geez! its really difficult to trust our babies to someone we don't really know! huh! i can imagine this situation it makes me feel bad... although i don't have a baby yet but i think if i have to have one, i will do the babysitting myself and again its difficult to trust our babies to 'strangers'...

Hello ckyera, This is an urban legend, but this fable has indeed a moral : don't entrust your children to a complete stranger !

yeah it is but things like this also happens in real life. well not really like that but you know, some babysitters who maltreat the children while the parents are away, we can really never know what the babysitters was able to do with our kids...

There is a risk for a baby. There were a lot of "accidents" a century ago with babies entrusted to nursemaids, some by lack of surveillance, and some by maltreatment. I will never put a child in the hands of a babysitter that I don't know.

Hi. topffer. After seeing and knowing something like this, I would think twice about having a stranger babysit my own kids. I would not want to have anyone in my home that I don't know too well. I will just never allow a babysitter to come into my home to babysit. You just can't trust babysitters as much nowadays.

Hi cream. I understand your view, and I think too that it is very difficult to trust a perfect stranger. But sometimes you want to go outside and can't bring your children with you... How do you manage it if you have not a parent or a friend near your home ?

wow that is just stupid of those parents everyone knows in real life if you consider yourself to be a good parent you would know what is best for your baby and what is best for your baby is to spend all the time you can possible have with he/she dont ever have a babysitter when i was growing up my babysitter was my brothers they taught me that life is short and you should cherish every given moment with family

I agree that it's better to ask the family for babysitting : my grand parents were my babysitters. They were very pleased to have me with them times to times, and I was very pleased to eat the cakes of my grand mother .

Urban legends are scary, but when they have a moral and common sense, they can also learn us something. Thank you for your post lady1993.
