That is not as bad a suggestion as it first seemed to be. Windows 98 is a 9X version of Windows which was developed for home use only and ceased to be produced after Windows Millenium. Most users now have Windows XP which is a direct upgrade from the NT versions and 9X is never likely to return, particular with Vista just around the corner. There are still a lot of people using Windows 98 and even Windows 95, but Microsoft are hardly likely to generate any more revenue from it.

So you are agree with me. It will be a good move if Microsoft declears Win98 a freeware. It will increase popularity of windows and will creat customers of future.

this is quite funny. But yes i guess they should make windows 98 freewaare but they won't as long as people still buy that crap.

Not many people are likely to purchase a copy now. It would be a good move from Microsoft because it would attract people to Windows and increase the chance of them upgrading to another version.
