Today i read where Russia has suspended all adoptions to US families. It's said to be caused by a mother that sent back her 7 year old adopted son on a plane to Russia by himself because he had severe psychological problems.I would like to hear your opinions.

wow. Like the other person said, I can't believe they would stop all adoptions because of one incident. Do you have the news link?

I have felt that each country should try to do it within their country since so many children are in the system. I also have the preconception theory that maybe they could not adopt in their country , so that is why they go abroad to adopt. So many children are victims to their new families because they do have problems, come on, they were yanked from their homes as they knew them, how would you feel if you lost you world, friends, family at an instant and you did nothing wrong? Sort of that witness protection program, you cannot go back. tough call and situation for anyone to be in. You want a child to different? Come on, they have feelings, memories, insecurities, etc...How long before they are abandoned again? Case in point. I am with Russia on this one. There should be guidelines in place to protect the child. Why not contact the orphanage? Why could they not find her when they tried contacting her? Many questions and she is not talking. Hmmmm?????Why???? She even has legal representation????????What is the real story, We shall see. The child should be the focus. Have a great day!

one seperate case should not form a whole regulation.it doesn't depend if the chold is adopted or not. What is important is the attitude of the parent-they may not treat the child in the proper way even if it is their own.
