It's something that I've never been all that good at. When I was in my high school careers class (not that I can emeber what the statement turned out like) I had to ahve my teacher help me a lot with this part of the resume.

Hi I used to have trouble coming up with objectives as well. I have a idea for you that helped me. Go to a bookstore and look in the career section. There are a lot of books you can get that will give you tips on how to write great resumes, cover & thank you letters and help you with objectives. There are also books on how to give good interviews and tips.
Good luck and wish you success on getting the job.

I am sorry maybe you were typing fast but I am a so what? You typed now you are so we've acheived something. Wasn't sure what that meant. And I do think for myself there is also nothing wrong with getting tools that will help you stand out nor is it wrong to ask for help in making your resume stand out. It doesn't mean you are going to get the job. I think having someone look it over and if they see something you have listed and know a better way to say it is awesome. A lot of people do that. I also have taken a class on jobs and got some great tips that way. By the way I have gotten jobs that way.

I never had to interview people I am sure that is very hard choosing the right person. You never really know until they start the job. It is hard putting things together and sometimes thinking of more than one way to say the same thing. Especially if you have similiar jobs with the same things you are doing. You have to try and list them differently instead of listing the same skill three times. I just like using the books for ideas to help me word things better and make it sound more professional is all I meant. I agree with you that you still have to do a lot of thinking on your own and if you are lucky to get a interview you still have to sell yourself on your own as well.
Thanks for the interesting discussion. You represent your side very well. Hope you have a great weekend.

Employers want the employees to be profitable to them just the same way as employees want the employers. When you apply for the job, you need to take care that the job is profitable not only to you but also to the employer.
Objective statement has to give an idea to the employer as to
1. Whether you will stick to the job?
and
2. Whether you can be productive in the job?
You can write the statement in such a way that these two aspects are reflected along with your expectation as to how you would like to see yourself if you stay in the job for longer time.

I would just write the what the available position under the heading of Objective in the CV. If it is a local or small company, the people who posted the job wouldn't be looking for 'creative' objectives in the resume. They need specific help, and that's what you're going to be providing them.
I've tried that a few times, and it worked. Goodluck!
