Would you rather be a fairy, gnome, pixie, ogre, witch......

dont pretend that you haven't ever wanted to be some fairyland/fantasy character - in a perfectly innocent way not the "adult dress-up" way, 'cos thats a whole new discussion 
I dont want to be anyone evil (well, maybe sometimes), I dont want to be stuck in someones front garden with a fishing rod in my hand or my trousers half-way down my bum, fairies are a bit too goody-two-shoes girly (tho' the bad fairy might be quite cool) so I think pixie would do it for me. I could wear those cute little boots, be mischievous AND still have wings.

I love capes, I have about 6 of them, cape is good
sidesaddle, not so good
Fred Astaire was a great dancer but Ginger did everything he did, only backwards and in high heels... I guess those women used to do every thing the guys did on a horse only side saddle - yikes!

Well personally I wouldn't really like to be any of those things and would much rather be the Assistant Treasurer for a Latvian Folk Dancing Touring Troupe! Unfortunately you didn't provide that as an option though, so I guess I'll go with gnome. At least being a gnome means that there's a good chance I'll get to sit in a garden all day and wear my trousers halfway down my bum! 
I'm not sure why you seem to have an issue with that very thing Wizzy, but it sounds rather blissful to me! Especially if I get to whip faeries with the fishing rod as they fly past.....

I'm just not that keen on having the wind whistling round like it does over empty milk bottles on doorsteps... the sound could be quite distracting. People might be confused as to where the wind was coming from
Whipping faeries?? You are a bad, bad, gnome James & I think the faeries should discipline you with your own fishing rod! What? Oh, you already had that in mind eh? Thats WHY the trousers are halfway down the bum??? Right!

Once, in my youth, I would have wanted to be a nymph. I thought they were beautiful. Then later I learned that mermaids can swim down to the depths of the sea. So I wanted to be one, too. But when I learned that the siren's song can make a man crazy, I abandoned all dreams of becoming a mythological or fairyland character. Given a chance, I would like to be the princess. Now that I am old, I could be a queen.

When I was younger I did my best to convince my cousin that I commanded a group of fairies that came out of white quartz rocks. I was sure I could see them. The leader lived in a rock that had a speck of what looked like fool's gold. Her name was Vivian. I never dreamed of being one myself. I think I might have wanted to be Glenda the Good Witch of the North from the Wizard of Oz movie and books. I guess I always wanted to be full sized.

Oh wow.... you had fairies in rocks too!! We had a stone pillar in our garden where the linen line was fixed. I suppose it was a sort of sandstone because there were millions of tiny stones in it. Just at my eye-level there was a hole just small enough for the fairies to go in. They took the stones with them - they turned the white ones into silver and the yellowy-orange ones into gold. Of course, they weren't strong enough and the hole wasn't big enough for big lumps of gold and silver to be pushed out so it stayed inside the pillar. Maybe that was the start of my fondness for talking to inanimate objects????
I had a friend who was always bragging about what she had and I hit back with "So what, we've got fairies in OUR garden"... and, when I had my birthday party we ALL stood talking to the stone pillar...
We moved house when I was 18 so I had to leave my fortune behind

I would have to be a Pixie of course. Plus they are one of my favorite bands.
