It is presently a very huge business as there are millions of people wanting their page in the the first page of search results and loads of traffic to their sites. There are tutorials about this or you can hire a professional who would take care of this. PS: Spend money on SEO only if you can conclude that it is a good company and do a bit of research. Also if your content itself is of bad quality how much ever amount of SEO cannot do a thing to get you traffic.
