Crazy Critters product review!

I did not buy the product advertised on TV but saw a similar one at Bed, Bath and Beyond. A sales lady saw me looking and I asked her if I could return it if Gus tore it up and she said yes, anything in the store can be returned for any reason. So I took a deep breath and put it in my cart--at $9.99, that's no cheap toy but the return policy convinced me. It's been a week and this flimsy-looking toy is still going strong!! Gus has tremendous jaw strength and when he gets hold of something and shakes it or plays tug with me he about pulls my arm out of the socket! He has really put this toy through the wringer but it is still intact, albeit missing a bit of its fake fur. The squeakers are still firmly ensconced on each end and the only problem is that Cookie wants one, too. I think this toy is pretty tough! For a toy to last a week in this household is almost a miracle. I would recommend this toy for medium sized or small dogs. I'm not sure about larger dogs, though. Note: Gus is a Boston Terrier, 37 pounds, strong jaws, very tall and long for a BT just as they originally bred them. So you know it's not only small dogs that can enjoy this.

We have one of these that has been through several dogs and still is attractive to the dogs, these were large dogs with much pulling, chewing and tearing power.

I was wondering about that! On the commercial it looks as if the big Lab dog isn't putting much effort into it so I thought it would not stand up very well. I'm glad I bought one even if it was a different brand. Playtime is much more fun with a strong toy!

thanks for this. isnt it amazing how strong a little dogs teeth and jaws are? coco likes to concentrate on chewing out the squeakers in them. couldnt tell you how many times ive actually sewed the toys she especially likes back together. i used to do that when the kids were little. if something they loved got torn and it could be sewed i did it i guess cocos nearly out of the puppy stage. its been a long time since she tore one up. but her teeths still very strong. the way she chomps that pressed hard bone treat tells me i would feel sorry for someone if she wanted to really bite them thanks for this advert.

Your Coco has a little short snout that means she has good jaw strength, great for tearing up toys! Cookie's is longer and of course Gus with his smooshed nose (not as bad as some poor BTs) makes for tremendous jaw strength! I'm going to try to make one of these myself so Cookie will have one and I don't have to spend $10 but only $1!

This is a great review of a product. I do not have dogs to destroy things. I just do it myself. Some of the cutest toys I have seen have been for dogs.

Oh, you are too funny! At least you know how they are so you can recommend them to someone with a dog, if you know one. How goes your gather discussion? Were people surprised and pleased and also disgusted with our state-run media? I'm curious!

I've been wondering how they hold up. I have two chihuahuas and my female is quite the toy destroyer.,..lol She pulls the stuffing out of everything...even her bed. I have started just using cheap bed pillows in her basket, I can get them for about 3.00 at walmart so it helps. I will be making a trip to Bed Bath and Beyond this weekend for sure. My male just like to snuggle with toys or use them as a pillow, but keeping his away from my female is not the easiest job...especially if it is something she wants..lol Thanks for sharing.

Your little girl will love this!! I was making Gus's toys out of double folded denim and they still were shredded. I think it works because this has no stuffing but it still has the "floppability factor" that dogs love when they shake something. Gus will even sit down and chew it sometimes and it's still intact. The squeaker in each end are great! I hope your girl enjoys it, it would be nice if you'd start a new thread and post a picture of her with it--profitable for you, enjoyable for the rest of us!

Thanks for the heads-up on this, dragon. My tiny Maltese girls (5 and 7 pounds) love their squeeky toys but the 7 pounder is always destroying them. She digs at them until she's made a hole, then proceeds to pull everything out that she can, including the squeeky thing, then chews that up. I'm always afraid she'll choke on part of it. Looks like I'll be investing in a couple of these. I was wondering about them but hadn't heard anyone talking about them, good or bad, until I read this discussion. It's about time someone managed to make a, hopefully, indestructible toy!

I won't go so far to say it's indestructible but if it's lasted a week here in my house with Gus, it'll give you your money's worth! I hope your girls enjoy them!
