Do you think UTHAPPA & IRFAN would have been a better selection ?????

Uthappa is a very very good aggressive player ,he should have been selected in the squad . Murali vijay is playing poor cricketin international cricket, he played well in ipl, but how can you select a player with the help of a single century in ipl? Robin Uthappa was experienced in tnernational T20 and he knows to play short pitch balls also(most of indian players are struggling to play those). Murali vijay played only against low standard team like Afganisthan, he is not showing his talent against quality bowling. murali vijay cannot be considered as a replacement for viru, he is our senior player that too the most aggressive in world cricket, so Uthappa was the fair replacement in all cases, the matches played by india showed that.we know that opening partnership is the needed one for india to win matches, a player like Uthappa was the one who would have delivered that, and yesterday we lost wicket from the start and we lost the match under pressure, so Uthappa is really a big miss in the absence of Sehwag. And now when praveen kumar is injured why dont we select Irfan Pathan who displayed very good allround cricket in IPL, and why the selectors just avoid him and goes for Umesh Yadav in a worldcup that too in a crucial stage? we are playing super8 matches and we should have picked a more experienced one like Irfan, so what do you think? If he is avoided in this situation then when will they select him? are the selectors not serious about team? I dont think that selectors are not doing there job correctly, then how can the team be blamed for lossing matches?

I don't know on what bases K.Srikanth selected this Murali vijay. Uthappa is a big hitter and he can be a match winner. But K.Srikanth chosen team without a match winner. I don't know how they are selecting a team...

there is no special reason, he gave the chance for a boy from his home town, when he got a rare situation to do so. he got viru injured, luckly vijay got a century in IPL and he used this situation to give chance for a boy from his home town chennai thats all. but unfortunately, for india and for Srikanth, the selection was a big mistake and indian team paid for the mistake.

not only those two there are many performed players who are left out in selection process. where is Pragyan oja, the top wicket taking spinner in IPL? instead piyush chawla? like this many......happens in indian cricket.

For me the crucial miss has been that of Pragyan Ojha, the best left arm bowler for India over the last year or so and the best bowler in IPL T20. Instead we have Ravindra Jadeja in the team who gives around 3 sixes per over that he bowls and then drops catches and gets himself run out in the most stupidest way. I think that is going to be one of the main misses why India might miss out on the semis this time around. Regarding Uthappa, I think even if they had picked him for the tour, he would not have played as Dhoni prefers to play Pathan as the striker lower down the order. Cheers! Ram

really your are absolutely right, eeven when i heard the mames of the players for the international t20 squad the first thing that came in my mind was that "why didn't athey took uthapa...." i mean he has performed the world class in IPL and he can hit the ball very hard ..........actually we cannot understand the rules of the selector committee ..........what they show us aren't their actual rules i hope you got what i am trying to say...............

I am not sure about Irfan but Uthappa should be taken in the side.He is an aggressive batsmen and the more important thing is he is some what unorthodox which is at times very important in the T20 format.sometimes he walks down the track and hits the ball for six. And the opening failed completely. What shocked me more than Murali vijay's poor batting was Gambhir's poor form.Generally he is a very good player and adjusts to the conditions quickly.i think he is missing his partner viru very much.Umesh yadav should have been given a chance in place of Jadeja I thought. Selectors should rethink.you are right.
