Where did you learn to use the Internet for the first time?

We are all on the Internet, but we had to start somewhere. I began to learn how to use the Internet when I was school. It was during about the sixth grade or so. It was most certainly the interesting experience to say the least at the time and it is hard to imagine life without it sometimes. So how about you? When did you learn to use the Internet? I am looking forward to reading your responses.

This is crazy because I remember when there was no internet!! I don't really remember when I first learned to "use" the net but I think around the time everyone was getting comfortable with surfing the web, I was picking up on things just in society. Around 1997-98 were the years I can remember starting out using the computer more often at home to use the internet and I tried to make some money with it!! My whole motivation was there had to be some monetary use for this tool that had us all connected. Plus I think I picked up on things really fast since I was using PC's since second grade (1981). Remember those Texas Instruments Computers?? Man we've come a long way! I wish my Granddad had lived to see this age in technology though. He would have loved it..

Wow, a time without the Internet. I can believe it though, but that does seem like an entirely different world. Indeed, we have come a long way. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Hi.megamatt I start with it in netbar surrouded my middle school when I was a student,as a kid I got addicted to arcard games those are relatively simple and boring to PC games now,so I often went into the netbar to enjoy the games,I learned some basic operations of PC during that ,and then I started to play games on local net and joint the forums about the games I enjoyed, viewed posts there and searched bugs of the game and tips to win it........ That's how I get start.

Interesting, very interesting. Those early PC games that I played seemed out of this world, these days I doubt they would hold my interest for more than a few seconds. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Hi, megamatt. I started to learn how to use the Internet when I was, about 15 or 16 years old. I was in high school then. I really started using it after I got out of high school a little later when I was about 19 to 20 years old. It was for a only a few times. When I was, 25 that is when I really started to use the Internet frequently. In 2004 that is when I was a more active Internet user then.

Very interesting. I would imagine many people had their first experiences with the Internet in school but did not really start fully utilizing the Internet until much later. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Ah, I am sure a lot of people had to learn by necessity due to a school project or paper. The Internet is a vast resource once you get the hang of it but it can be baffling at first. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
