Hotmail unavailable for hours; do you suffer from it?

Hotmail has been down for hours, when I try to log on it keeps stating that the server is too busy. I keep refreshing and trying every other minute, but it's still down.
Luckily all my 'important mail' (work, school, etc) I have on gmail which isn't down often, and if it would happen not for this long. In that way I do feel gmail is more thrustworthy than hotmail. On the other hand, I like hotmail for quick exchanging e-mails with people in my messenger list that aren't online at the moment. You can also use messenger plus where you can type an offline message that will be delivered once the person logs on, but I feel that can be a bit tricky if that person isn't around on messenger a lot and does use hotmail frequently.
The thing is, all my mylot messages go in there as well, so I'm not up to date as too who and if people are replying to my posts.
Do you have important e-mail you use hotmail for, and do you experience inconvience by hotmail not functioning proberbly? Please share!
