Can Anything Beat Or Replace Eating Chocolates Physically?

I do not know about you but I am a firm believer that nothing beats the experience of biting into a bar of chocolate.
However, it is not to be so for some, at least for one by the name of David Edwards, a Harvard professor who invented the chocolate spray called Le Whif.
It is basically a chocolate aerosol spray which sprays particles of dark chocolate into the mouth to let users inhale chocolate to provide all the pleasure of eating chocolates but with no need to feel guilty after that.
Don't get me wrong and that I am against new creations and developments in sciences but I just felt that this one is excessive and unnecessary. I am just concern of the side effects where who is to say after some years later that it has bad side effects or aftermaths or even cancerous.
So, I like my chocolates and I still would like them physically in bars, nuggets, thins and what have yous where I can sink my teeth and fill my mouth with it.
But, to whiff it?!
I don't think so as nothing beats the real thing.

When I lived on the farm, we had cocoa trees that were reaped yearly. The pods were dried and then we ground them using a mortar and pestle. I am talking about 35- 40 years ago. Then we would have our own chocolate drink (cocoa) to last us for many months. However, coconut milk was added or condensed milk before it was drunk. Well the Cocoa trees are still there but we are not working the farm so we allow the locals to help themselves to the fruits available as they come into season e.g. mangoes, June plums, guava, tamarind etc.
Would I use this spray? Nah! Give it a big fat miss. Blessings and thanks for the memories

cynthiann,
I've quite a lot of experiences with fruit farms but never with one where they have cocoa.
I am sure you have had a wonderful experience when you were young. So, like you I just have to say that this chocolate spray is really unnecessary especially when there's so much other areas sciences should look into - starting with the imminent global warming which is already wreaking havoc around the globe.
Take care.

P.S.
I think you would love the latest news about chocolates where they said and I quote: "Just two or three squares a day could slow the aging process, keeping the skin smooth and line-free, research shows."

Now don't get me started on global warming.
I saw a picture of the north pole with a piece of ice as large as a country breaking off. Totally scary and the governments of the world do not care enough to do something really positive to stop the destruction.
But thanks for the news about chocolate. It is great news!

Dear skysuccess,
I just finished eating Ferrero Rocher when I open
your topic of discussion. What a coincidence...talking about chocolates!
I always enjoyed biting the physical chocolates and indulge in every
bite out of it. We should take time to enjoy our chocolates, not just
taste it and feel satisfied. I personally won't choose the chocolate
aerosol spray...no, not me :)

Iriene88,
Like you, I just finished a bar of Cadbury when I read this and I nearly fell off my chair.
Nothing beats the real thing and I have to admit it the enjoyable gooey feeling when my mouth is filled with that aromatic sweet chocolate. Unbeknown to you, the first candy I had was actually a bar of chocolate - Van Houten, and since then my love for it had never changed till today.
So, I will never choose the aerosol over my first love and passion. At least, not this lifetime of mine.

hi skysuccess I would not want to try that sprayed chocolate as it might prove to be dangerous to ones health as most sprays have chemicals in them that are not good for our bodies. no let me have my dark chocolate bars and enjoy them and love that chocolate. wish I had one right now to survey that delicious flavor.no chocolate spray for me thank you very much. lol lol.

Hatley,
We really have enough chemicals already and this chocolate spray is just the last thing I'd ever want to consider.
Again, I still enjoy chocolates and would definitely would like to have them in my mouth.
So, I am with you here - No chocolate spray!
Have a great day.

As someone who is watching their weight and normally very strict about what they eat.. even I would not want chocolate in an aerosol can! We already know aerosol sprays are definitely dangerous to your health and the environment. Even cooking sprays are not very healthy because of the chemicals that must be added to it in order for it to spray the way it does.
I see nothing wrong with eating chocolate in moderation.. and actually eating small amounts of dark chocolate on occasion has actually shown some health benefits.. the key is not to over indulge.

katsmeow1213,
My exact sentiments here.
There are just many ways where one can maintain our weight and have a healthy body. Using the aerosol to quell our indulgence for chocolates and dieting does not sound safe to me and there's no proven science here.
I just hate to hear some bad side effects after some years down the road. So, it is real solid chocolates for me any time over that aerosol alternative.
Take care and have a nice day.
