I was just reading a discussion, and in the tags at the bottom of the discussion were the words 'game/poll type, guideline violation, reported' I have not noticed this before, so I thought that I would share it so that perhaps more of you can avoid wasting time on discussions that will be removed!! SO MY TIP IS READ THE TAG LINE FIRST IF IN DOUBT!! Hope this helps some of you!

hi oldchem1 thats a good idea but only if someone is sharp enough to see the violation and puts the tag on it. the best first way to avoid making discussions that will be deleted is to know what will get a discussion deleted and what will not, and this is to read the information, why is it so hard for everyone to read that info?

That does not always hold true, however. Those tags are just put there by other people who are active on MyLot, but often the people who think they know the most about the guidelines do not. For instance some people tagged and reported other discussions that turned out to be legitimate, they, the taggers, just disliked the discussion. It is a fairly good idea to read the tags, I will agree, but do not bet the farm on the tags being correct. In the case of what you just quoted, I would go look and see if the discussion is indeed a game/poll discussion and make up my own mind. I also am not going to tell anyone that I am reporting them. Why waste my time?

How interesting. It would appear that in the discussion you saw someone had added tags to let others know their comments might get deleted. I have seen myLot users repeatedly post discussions they knew would get deleted. Crazy isn't it?

That is what I keep te3lling people is to read the faqs first before coming they start posting to avoid getting their discussion deleted. There would certainly be less discussions deleted, if users would do that. All we can do is help them anyway, knowing full well, that possibly, the discussion will be deleted. I help those kind anyway, knowing full well, I will lose earnings for my response as well. It isn't all that much anyway, and that is what we are supposed to do is help others if and when we can. I know they sure do appreciate it. I know I certainly would. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I haven't thought about that. I just don't respond if I feel there is any doubt to start with! That really keeps me from having posts deleted a lot. I wonder if they put them up there just to see who will respond!

Bless the person who tags the discussion like that. He/She is saving all of us time and money by doing this kind deed. I was feeling bad the other day when a discussion I responded to got deleted cos it was violating the norms of myLot. But this tip will help me to keep clear of such discussions.. Thanks for the tip and once again.. bless the person.. bourne
