I am sure we have all seen the retro game on google's search page, ie. Pac-man, there has been several discussions about this already here in myLot.
What I am asking is what other arcade machines do you remember and what is your favourite retro game.
All games from the past (20-30 years) are classics, far superior to the modern games people play now.
Asteroids was my personnal favourite.

And he's a collector and will appreciate it far more than I will, so no big deal!

My brother still has one, since I eventually gave mine to him. He has just about every video game system known to man!

i was a huge fan of TRON. whenever i played it when growing up, i always wondered what it would be like to live in the game, just like the TRON movie at that time

that's the best part. you don't need to know how. you just need to think that you are already riding...
it's like in Matrix..'in order to bend the spoon, you have to accept that there is no spoon..'
ok, i officially confused myself

When I was a kid, my parents owned a static caravan on a site in Ingoldmells on the Lincolnshire coast by the sea. We would go there most weekends and there were two big amusement arcades nearby, which had lots of pin-tables (my Dad's favourite)and air hockey tables. My favourite games were Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Asteroids, Galaxian and that Olympic one where you did running and gymnastics and other sports.

Air hockey tables, now thats a blast from the past, I had forgotten all about them. Object of air hockey- hit plastic disc as hard as possible and hope the other player removed his hand incase it hurt.
I cant remember the proper name for the olymipic game , but I do remember how stupid you would look battering the two buttons trying to make the guy run faster. I think there was 10 different sporting events, you had to get a certain score before you could get on to the next sport. 100M Running, Long Jump, Clay Pigeon Shooting,Weight Lifting, Swimming, that Horse thing, Archery, Pole Vault, and thats as much as I remember. Think I'll need to investigate further on that one.2 people like this

hi haddowz I thinkk what I am remembering is in the bus depots when i was young at least 40 years ago they had all these slot machines or whatever they called them and young people wou
ld stand for hours playing on them no slot machine is not the word I want, but they were put in an arcade and there would be teens there for hours, I guess they came in to the bus depost just to play the machines as they never took a bus. lol

Hello, I remember Defender well, it was cool. I think it was one of the first video games that you actually flew your space ship horizontally rather than vertically.
I was pretty rubbish at playing the game, everytime I pushed the hyperspace button I would re-appear right infront of an alien, so 'End of Game' seemed to be the most popular screen.
Frogger, how stupid was that frog wanting to cross a fast flowing river and then a busy road, DOH!

I love the old arcade games. They remind me of happy childhood times. I was severely addicted to pacman. Companies can dream up whatever new and advanced technology for the newer game systems. They will never compare to the the fun and enjoyment of the old arcade games.

I know what you mean about the new advanced game systems, just not the same. The graphics and sound maybe much improved but for me most of the charm of the old arcade video games was the simplicity. Block graphics, basic colours, and simple beeps and bangs.
HaVe FuN..

Was that the game where the you moved the centipede around the screen and the further the time went the longer the centipede would get. You had to avoid tripping over yourself ?
Or am I barking up the wrong tree.
