As part of my profession, I need to assess and interview our clients before writing a report. But each time, a client comes with huge tatoos, we are required to pay extra attention or take special precautions. What does tatoo means to you? Do you have some kind of thoughts when you meet people with huge tatoos?

To me, it's some unnecessary skin decoration without any meaning. It's just a waste of time and money. Besides, we need to endure the pain during the engraving process or when we are removing it.
I will feel uneasy when I see people with extensive tattoos on their body. It hints me that the person might be involved in gangster activity.

Thanks to Capsicum, I agree that people bearing tattoo do not necessary represented by what is shown outside. However, tattoo reveals a person characteristic more or less, although not so accurate.
Hi Ket Ping, I didn't know that there are people who tattooed the medical information or history on their body. If I knew about it, then I won't be so against it. It would help if people engrave such important information on their body in time of urgent need. Besides, I do agree that it's art. But an art is too costly if it hurt. Just personal opinion.
Happy posting and have a nice day!

I really appreciate Cheongyc and Capsicum's response. Yes, Cheongyc does has his point. In reality, we would not really conclude a person's personality by just observing outward apprearances hence interviews and investigations are conducted to reach a conclusion but tattoos do create a certain kind of initial impression.
Everything has it's pros and cons and tattooing is no exception. Besides tattoo, some people also carry medic alert cards or bracelet to provide useful medical information which can help in life threatening situations.
Yes, art is art. I am an art enthusiast myself. The tattoo may appear costly and painful to you but if it is done gently, slowly or maybe with sedation orunder local anaesthesia, the engravement may not hurt that much. Don't you agree?
To me, when I paint a picture, I will put my heart and soul in it and nothing else matters maybe it be time, costs, tiredness, physical pain or meal time. But the end result of my art piece will be wonderful, unique and worth every bit of my effort. That's art! That's what interest is all about. Do you see my point of view?
Are you interested in art too?
Thanks so much. Have a great day!

I personally don't like tattoo's, They send false impressions of people.Like you mentioned you are required to take more precautions.Truth be told they are normal as curly hair. Not something ,I would ever want on me for the rest of my days.Though some love them like,I love chocolate.I enjoy and even like some peoples tattoos,But wonder how long it lasts.
When young they look great if not expressing something horrid or down right dumb.Such as the guys who tattoo black tears under eye to show they have killed another.
I think people like myself enjoy the art but always wonder what it will look like in ten years,Or ten pounds heavier
.
Its as normal as piercing your ears but less excepted. If you see someone who looks like a hard azz with them it almost becomes a label seeing it in profound ways. It often looks terrible and suggests things are a certain way.Though I have met people that made me feel different about tats as a statement. They disappear just as looks do once you know someone long enough
. No matter who you are it does not change that,Its the people who identify themselves with these markings that make it all questionable.
Just like teeth and finger nails its one of the first things you notice. Its all in the eye of the beholder.

Nice to receive your response again Capsicum. You are definately right that our appearance maybe it be our teeth, hair or even a tattoo, would not accurately reveals our personality. But to a certain extent, people who tattooed their body do arise certain amount of suspicion due to our constant observation and findings. To confirm our findings about a person, other investigations will be done to exclude stereo typing as you had mentioned.
Of course, there are laws in every country to prevent the spread of contactable diseases like Hep B and Hep C through the use of disposable items used in procedures such as the engravement of tattoos. Unfortunately, this procedure is not done in a hospital or clinic so the safety precaution carried out is not as safe as expected. So you are indeed wise not to have such procedures like tattoo engravement done on your body.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
