Okay, a few hours...
So, I was looking at shots of them building at mom's place on the web
And I was looking on Weds, June 2nd.
I was watching them build one of those "state birds of Austin" the "crane" as in "building type crane"

so, if start on Weds at 17:00 and go for a few hours (in 15 minute updates) at 18:00 they start taking down the temporary crane after building the new one and by 19:00 you can see it and the truck driving up the ramp and you will have seen a storm roll into town.
AND you can see some of what I"m talking about with the big trucks!
So, this is Austin - the road to the left of the screen is "Loop 1" or as the locals call it "MoPac" for the railroad that goes down the middle of it...

hi ElicBxn nope not really but thinking of cranes a few years back I was getting my Ba and on my way to the U ofCa Irvine and saw this crane of top of a build then hear whistles and shouts and people running around getting out of the way as this crane turned sideways then just
went sliding down to the ground, with people milling all around. nobody was hurt but I can imagine there were some red faces. someone goofed and this enormous crane went sailing right down on the ground. the bus driver had stopped for a passenger and got so engrossed another passenger asked him why we were stopped. i have no idea how they got that crane up there in the first place nor how they were going to get it back up and why would they want to? that was interesting watching all that was going on in Austin and the temp wow you are getting hot already we are not quite there yet.too hot

Holy Crap! I used to work at Westminster Manor in 1975-76. And I remember Mo-Pac. You should see Houston...Cranes, bull(dogs)dozers etc. Roads being "Improved" sort of. See a corner lot? Next week it will have a bank, pharmacy, or taco place on it the next week.
