The previous record was 7 three-pointers set by Kenny Smith of the Houston Rockets and Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls. But that was snapped by the player named Ray Allen who made 8 three-pointers in a game in the NBA Finals, surpassing Smith's and Pippen's all time record. A great performance by Ray Allen, not only he achieved the mark, he has also help the Celtics tied the series 1-1 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

One of the pure shooters in the NBA, Allen redeemed himself as he was not productive in Game 1 because of foul trouble. This time, he made sure that what happen in Game 1 would be forgotten as he burned the Lakers with a record 8 three pointers. I would agree that it might have reached 10 or more but the Lakers made sure that Allen's shooting streak should end as they intensify their defense on him. But thanks to Rondo, Boston still managed to survive and won Game 2.

Ray Allen was checked by the Lakers defense in the second half of the game. But he already made a major damage in the first half. The attention of the defense by the Lakers in the second half keeps scrambling at him, thus, setting up his teammates.

And Rondo steps up as the Lakers swarmed Allen with their defense.. What could be each team's adjustments in Game 3..

Really impressive 3-point shooting there by Ray Allen. He's really determined to tie the series. I've been longing to see his skills in shooting. Allen is I think 1 of the best shooters in the NBA. But I haven't see him display this shooting performance in quite a while. Go Celtics!

Ray Allen is a pure shooter and a good scorer as well. He is the best in the business when it comes to quick shooting. His jump shot is as accurate as ever and when he is on a hot streak, there is no stopping him. Lakers defense on him in game 3 will play a crucial role. And its up to Allen to keep shooting the lights out.
