Apple iPad users who are subscribers of AT&T's 3G wireless internet service may want to pay particular attention to this. It is learned that email addresses of more than 114,000 Apple iPad users including celebrities and politicians have been exposed in a targeted hacking attack in the US. It is believed that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg were among those affected by this attack along with CEOs and executives of companies like The New York Times, Time Inc. and Dow Jones as well as senior military personnel. So far, the breach is an issue with AT&T's security procedures rather than with Apple itself, where AT&T had allowed a hacker group - Goatse Security to trick their site into giving up the email addresses. This massive breach has rendered all of those affected to be opened to spam and malicious hacking. Even though only emails have been exposed they can still be used to launch an attack and criminals could use that knowledge to trick users into opening emails that plant malicious software on their computers. So far, AT&T subscribers in U.K. and iPad models that uses WiFi only setups are not affected by this breach. However, it would still be good for all iPad users worldwide who uses mobile phone networks to access the internet to be wary. Prevention is better than cure here. This year's budget doesn't allow me to afford a iPad. That's great. It totally prevent my personal info from being exposed.

zausiu, I suppose you don't get to win everything in life perhaps you will be able to afford it later. Anyway, I suppose this is good to know especially for iPad owners and mobile network providers. Have a nice weekend.
