A Change of Plan

Have you ever retrieved something from the freezer in an anonymous bag and, upon defrosting it, had to change your dinner plans? I thought I'd taken some pork chops out of the freezer but it turned out to be belly draft. It wasn't a disaster because I love this recipe http://www.channel4.com/food/recipes/chefs/hugh-fearnley-whittingstall/rillons-of-pork-belly-recipe-08-10-23_p_1.html and that will be what we are having. Have you ever done something like this?

I love pork belly, I think it has a great flavour!! I use it in a sweet and sour sauce and it's really tasty. That looks lovely, hope that you enjoy it1!

Hi old chem: I have to say that I love pork too. Its flavour it's simply delicious so I can eat pork and I wopuld never feel bore about this kind of meat... but at the same time I know that it's not the best kind of meat for our heart health. So I try not to eat a lot of pork. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO

I love pork! Yum! This recipe does sound good. I do get venicine and beef confused in the freezer. And rabbit and chicken. They look like one another. I learned early that those sacks you can get that have the place where you can write what you have really pay for themselves. Hehehe

I usually have a pretty good idea of what is what, I seriously didn't think there was any pork other than the chops in the freezer. Still, it is a good recipe and I recommend it to anyone.

Did you get to use up the sausages later? It is nice when you get a surprise meal out.

We have had random freezer meals before. But most everything is labeled so this doesn't happen real often and if it does, I just tell the hubby and kids that was what I was planning all along. They don't know the difference and are happy to eat whatever is served.

Today I make to many fried food until I really fed up just by looking it. I trow some for my dog because I don't wanna to eat them any more the rest go to freezer, it will become my dog dinner for tomorrow . No one at my home will eat freeze food because they said it change the taste. We always us fresh food and cook every time we eat. My family quite picky they will not eat the same meal more than twice. So we have to made minimal 14 different menus a week for meat/chicken/fish and vegetable.

Our freezer at home in general is very empty. We prefer to buy fresh ingredients to help enhance the taste of the food. I guess we are lucky as we have a fresh fish market nearby and also grocer. Maybe to prevent this happening again you can somehow label each bag in the freezer as it goes in? Happy MyLotting

Label the bags? That would spoil the adventure..... We have a good butcher nearby but sometimes we buy in bulk from a market (not a supermarket, an old-fashioned meat market) and freeze for convenience.
