Whenever someone mentioned,"hospital" it will automatically give a certain amount of creeps to some people. Likewise applies when " nurse" or "doctor" are highlighted. I remembered how my mother being of the tradisional chinese origin, would cry instantly whenever any of these three words are mentioned and she had to seek treatment from the hospital. It took a while to persuade and to calm her down before taking her there.
Hospital, nurses and doctors could sometimes instill a certain amount of fear, anxiety and phobia for some people. But they are so important in our life. They help us to regain our health, treat our sickness, add quality to our life and save us and our loved ones during life threatening events like cardiac and respiratory arrest. They make such a difference in our life.
Are you anxious, fearful or worried when you are admitted in a hospital or wnenever you are attended by nurses and doctors?

oh my GOD. it has given me a shiver. How would you react to my answer here, if I told you that i am one among those creeps! I am a DOCTOR but, alas, I told you so.
I know how the traditional and the old react to these words. It is all because, the so called nurses, doctors, and health-experts are being very rude and dirty in minds.
But, I try to be as soft, and as human as possible, and I don't call my clinic to be a HOSPITAL. .. I don't have a BOARD at all, .. save for the legal nameplate.. which is mandatory.

Oh! My! Thanks so much for response.Gosh! I am very happy to hear from you, doctor.
For all the good deeds you have done to save and treat us, you certainly deserves much more respect and credit from all of us.
It aren't only about how the so called nurses, doctors and health experts's attitude or image were but it is about the fear of the unknown. We just don't know what they will do to us and almost all procedures or surgical interventions carries a certain amout of risk. We just become very anxious, worried and feel that our life is being threatened or our loved ones' life is at sake. Even when I received my test results, my heart when beating rapidly and I felt great relief when my result are within normal limits.
I am so glad that you do care for our feelings, try to be soft and gentle with us. You may have surprised me but you did not make me shivered.
Thanks again, doctor. Hope to hear from you again.

I do not have bad impressions about hospital and the nurses or doctors working there. However, I did heard a lot of both positive and negative comments about it from friends and relatives. Most people have the impression that they will be treated badly in the government hospital. They would rather pay a handsome amount money to be admitted in the private hospital.
I still remembered I visited my poor late grand father who was in the ward after his eye operation. He was so weak, and became less active after the recovery. I had seen the patient on the bed next side was reprimanded fiercely by the nurse.

I agree that this professions is tough and need to face a lot of challenges. Although under the stress and pressure, but if the duty is carried properly, this is a very sacred and benevolent profession. The doctors and nurses are actually doing a great good deed everyday, by saving lives and bringing the patients back to health.
I am glad to hear the modern hospital system is improving gradually. In future, I hope people no longer fear or think negatively with the medical treatment received in hospital.
Happy posting and have a nice day!

Thanks for your response. Some people are fearful of hospitals, doctors and nurses.
However, I am glad you do not have bad impressions of nurses and doctors in general. Actually, they are usually working under great tension and are stressful. Futhermore, they can't afford to make any mistake as it will jeopardise their patient's lives and this is unacceptable.
But it still doesn't render them to let it off their stress on their patients who are already unwell and weak. I am sorry to hear of your encounter of your late grandfather at the goverment hospital. Recently, there have been great improvement in most hospitals to improve the quality of patient's care, food services as well as the hospital environment in terms of patient's safety and pleasant atmosphere. Nurses and doctors' performance are evaluated from time to time and will also be reprimanded for their poor behaviour and services.
