I use k9 web filtering software for my personal pc, but in the secondary school where I maintain about 40 units, installing it individually takes so much time and besides I don't think it is covered in the free use limitation.
Does anyone knows a similar program that can be installed in the Proxy server? Due to budget constraint, I use Window's Internet Sharing feature to share the Internet. (I know, it sucks). If I could spare a unit I would have used a linux based server but as it is, I can't :(
any suggestions?

Yo, archon.
I may not be the most qualified to answer you but I take the chance ..
So, you have a pc which - using Win ICS - allow other pc's to access the internet.
I don't know the k9 software, but I would recommend you to givee a try to Comodo firewall software.

Good luck and happy myloting

Thanks for giving it a try... it might be as well what I needed. I'm downloading and going to try it anytime this day or tomorrow.
FYI anyway- K9 is a web filtering and protection software. Works well in blocking unwanted sites that are common sources of malwares ... and you can configure what category and/ore site you want to allow or block. It's by made by bluecoat.
Thanks again
