Well after many, many jars of homemade strawberry jam, seems I'll be making a lot of rasberry jam and or jelly as well. They have started to turn red and there's a multitude of them this year. Do you like your rasberry jam with or without the seeds? This photo shows one of them that has ripened already. It was tasty! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

hi grandpa Bob I love them both ways but now my doctor says no seedy berries so I have to make anything raspberry without the seeds.I have diverticulitis, tha t is small pouches in one's intestines. sounds harmless but if like what happened to me you eat seedy black berries and the seeds ball up into a diverticuli then harden,The hardened mass ruptured a blood vessel and it took many tests and four blood transfusions before I was well enough to go home,, they had to get the bleeding and the diarrhea stopped first.

Yum - you're definitely the culinary gardening master! I prefer raspberries without the seeds, definitely. I just finished a jar of Polaner's no-sugar added preserves and they were fantastic. I would do it myself if I could!

Mmmmm they look really yummy, I dont know how they taste though. If they're similar to blackberries then I wouldnt be able to make jam or jelly out of them, they would be in my belly keeping them nice and warm. :)

I never have any raspberry jam. I don't have any jam or jelly of any kind in my apartment. It's not that I don't like it, it's just that I stick to the basics. I mean, for dinner tonight I had a hamburger patty. No bun or side dish, just the patty. If I were to buy black eyed peas, that would be a meal. Just that (money issues, although that should be getting better a little next month). However, I'm thinking of splurging. I had this apple butter in a diner a couple of weeks ago. I had never had apple butter. There was no taste of "butter" to me. You know, the kind I usually think of when I think of butter. So I am going to see if I can find apple butter made locally, and also some grape jelly. Or jam. Could you please explain to me, Grandpa Bob what the difference between jelly and jam is? I always get it confused. Is one healthier than the other? I mean, less sugar, or does one contain more fruit than the other?

I love raspberries but I don't particularly like raspberry jam... I guess it's the seeds, although they don't bother me when I'm eating them fresh off the vine. I had five raspberries today and three the other day. Won't be long now. I also had a couple blackberries the other day. Won't be long before I feast on them for an entire meal.

Oh yum, yes we are getting many berries this year..Except for my red ones which have been taken over by my black raspberries..I had hoped you would see the post I made about it and give me advice. Though I can't complain, because like I said, the black raspberries, we were getting a cup every other day and now we are getting 2 cups every other day..I am freezing mine along with making muffins..I'll probably experiment and try to make jam the way my neighbors grandmother did..

Oh Noooooo I am really jealous to you Grandpa Bob. If I wanna strawberry we have to ride to nearest supermarket but raspberry really rare here. I like all jam made by berry but my favorite is home made strawberry jam that contain chunk of strawberry fruit, the one in the supermarket not taste like strawberry any more.

I have actually picked the first of my raspberries today, they won't last long enough to make it to the jam pot I'm afraid!! I always have the seeds in my jam, wouldn't be raspberry jam without them for me!!

RED RASPBERRY Jam is my favorite. I use to make strawberry when my kids were home but now I only buy red raspberry. Once I got a jar that was seedless and what a difference in the taste. NOW I only buy it WITH seeds!!!! When ever I get a jelly donut that I am not suppose to have I always get raspberry!!! But the jam is the best. I will use it on french toast and pancakes instead of syrup some times. I also love it spread on homemade bread. I just love red raspberry! Have you ever made a pie with them? I don't think I have had red raspberry pie. Nice topic.
