I will try to make this as short as possible. Long time ago, I ended up, after answeringt an ad that said $300 a week guarantee, I ended up at a Kirby dealership. I was pretty bad, hardly sold any Kirbys. I was living at home. Every now and then, I would hit some highs though. I was at a customer's house and I was doing the demo and the conversation turned to how I was doing. I told him not thaqt good, I think it's time I look into something else. He had a copy of six tapes by Brian Tracy. That was on a thursday. Over the weekend I listened to those tapes. The next week I went out and sold FOUR Kirbys. The next week I didn't sell any. The3 week after, I didn't sell any. The week after, I think I sold one. Well, fast forward, I just got hired in to a company. The ad said, this is not a sales position. But guess what. It is. It's on the phones, setting appointments. Now, Brian Tracy is available on You tube. He talks a lot about goals and how important it is. He also Brian Tracy also said you should start every morning reading about sales and you should go into your car and listen to tapes about sales. Look what happened when I listened to Brian tracy. So any suggested reading? Any tips? I need to make this work. I am so tired of making just enough money to pay my bills.

Think about getting something like Fortune magazine or the Wall Street Journal. The reason behind reading about sales is that you get in the mind set of making the sale. It is to motivate you to think I can do this too. Once you get the hang of making the sale then your motivation will need to be less.
